BCBS of NE, low BMI

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Anyone with BCBS of NE with a low BMI? I am just getting started with the process, my BMI is around 35-36. As far as I'm aware, I have no co-morbities, but I plan to get a full work up from my PCP after the holidays. I do know that my cholestorol and blood pressure has creeped up the last two years, as I've had to complete a health assessment through my husband's employer to qualify for insurance. However, I am on no medications for such issues. Has anyone had experience with BCBS of NE with similar circumstances? Were you approved or denied?

Frankly, I fully expect to be denied, so I'm trying to prepare for that.

Thank you in advance.

I am not in NE but I am in the same boat as you my BMI is 34.7 and I have high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. I am also seeing a denial coming. I am in Mass. and I have BCBS of Mass. a 34.7 bmi to a 35 bmi is like 3 pounds but I do have 2 of the comorbs. Also I have a job where I am on my feet all day and my knees hurt and so do my ankles. I buy the right kind of sneakers and change them every 5 months or so. Since I had achilles tendonitis and my ortho told me what kind of shoes to wear and so forth. So the clinic I am going through told me I actually had a good chance but time will tell...We'll see...
