How long was it before you guys started driving again? I work pretty far from my office, and I'm going to request that I be allowed to work remotely for a week or so after surgery, but I'm wondering if I should request more time?

I'll ask my doc at the pre-op visit, but I just wanted to get some idea of what to expect in the meantime.

Thanks!

I was permitted to drive 24 hours after my last narcotic pain med. The first day I drove was either day four or five.

I was allowed to drive when ever it was comfortable for me, as long as you aren't on any pain med's, and allow a day for the med's to rid out of your body.

I was allowed to drive one-week post op. I felt great and was commuting all over the place. By that time I was off all pain killers too.

I'm being forced to wait 2 weeks  But otherwise, my doctor gave me the go ahead to anything else I want to do if it feels ok (My curling league comes to mind) My reason is they want to make sure my seizure meds are being absorbed ok, which I think is overkill since they are no shortening my intestins like they do in other surgeries. But oh, well.

I was told to wait 24 hours then drive when it was comfortable for me. Surgery was on Friday and I was back behind the wheel on Monday (when I was no longer doped up on pain meds). Getting in and out of the car was a little uncomfortable (I drive a Mustang) and the seatbelt had to be adjusted but once seated I was fine.

Hello fellow Mustang lover. I'll miss mine, not driving it for 2 weeks. :)

My doctor put me on 2 week driving restriction. It kinda drove me batty and I got a bit of cabin fever so I got the ok to drive after a full week at home.

My doctor said I could drive as soon as I felt ready. I don't feel ready yet. lol

Probably will in a day or two and I'm going a little cabin crazy here too. I'd like to be out christmas shopping!

I drove 3 days after surgery. It really depends on how you feel. I was banded on a Wednesday and back to work on a Monday so I felt pretty good pretty soon.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
