How many calories??

Recommended Posts

Hey

I've just started using FitDay.com and I'm not sure how many calories I'm supposed to be having.

I was told 800-1000 calories a day. If you work out A LOT you can increase the calorie intake.

I use calorieking and the minimum they allow is 1000. So I set that as my goal and am happy if I get below that. Most days I get somewhere in the 800-1200 range. I am losing pretty well, so it's working fine!

Everyone's different.

In Australia, they dont often give you a calorie range, because everyone IS different. If you're losing, you're eating the right amount, if you're not losing, you're probably eating too much.

I lost on about 1500 a day and I maintain on anywhere up to 2000. If I ate 2000 too many days in a row I would gain a bit, 1500 to 1800 is better and keeps me where I want to be.

A lot of people said why would you even need a band if you can eat that much, but sadly, my natural appetite directs me to eat more. I'm 5ft 10 and very active thought.

Hey, just realised you're in virtually the next suburb - I live iin narre Warren.

Have you had a look at www.calorieking.com.au. Its much less Americanised, it recognises all our common everyday foods. On fitday you have to enter EVERYTHING as a custom food coz we dont have the same brands and our serving sizes are smaller too.

Awww. Wow!

Thanks so much for that, it was quite painful converting everything and putting everything in!

Is there alot of people from Melbourne on here? I'd love to talk to people that are close by.

Thanks again for your help. x

800-1000 seems way too little. Seems unhealthy. I was never told a number, but I keep mine around 1200-1500. Then again, I weigh more than most people.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
