whitewitch10@iprimus.com. 0 Posted December 14, 2008 Hi People, Just a quick intro about myself, I live in Australia and I was banded over 6 years ago, am on my 3rd port, had a few ups and downs on the journey but have never ever regretted taking the plunge. I started off at 104kg and am now at 68kg, never felt better or dare I say sexier. My self esteem has risen and with it my interest in how I look, clothes no longer have to be the "hide within variety", close fitting and a little daring are the go now, those baggy T's make wonderful dusters. For all of you who are starting out, just take one day at a time and enjoy the kgs disappearing, hurdles do come but we have to remember our goals and that they are obtainable. Many thanks for allowing me to join your community. Lois
kendallsmeme 0 Posted December 14, 2008 I think that is great that with your problems you continued to have your port replaced! I hope naturally that I do not have problems but if i do i hope that I just don't give up and have them remove everything! Congrats to you and your weight loss, Hopefully 6 years from now I will feel happy with myself and my self esteem will improve!
suepro 39 Posted December 14, 2008 Hi Lois Its good to hear from some long term bandsters, I was banded on 6 November and just had my first fill so its early days for me. I am from England and most bandsters I have come across have been banded in the last couple of years so its good to know it can work in the long term and that you have lost an maintained your weight. Baby bandsters like me look to people like you for advice and help through our journey. I just joined this group and had a look through the various threads and it looks great.
