To fill or not to fill?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Oct. 13th. I was scheduled for a fill on Dec. 4th, but was unable to get my labs done in time so I postponed it until after Christmas. My question is do I need a fill? I can eat just about what ever I want. I do get a uncomfortable full feeling if I try to eat to much and or eat to fast. I have lost about 22lbs since surgery, that includes the ten I lost right after on the all liquid diet. My debate is should I get a fill and eat less and loose faster or continue the way I am an loose at a slower rate. The only problem I have now is that I am afraid that if I don't get a fill I will gradually eat more and more until I am back were I started.

Hey Emilie! How ARE you? I think Dr. C fills pretty slowly...at least he does for me. So I vote go for it!

Congrats on your loss, by the way!

If you can eat whatever you want - go for the fil.

Yes, get the fill before the Christmas holiday. Better now while the doctors are available.

Good luck!:wink2:

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
