bushbaby 8 Posted April 13, 2006 I am sooo sorry to hear your story... If you need support I am here. I can't say that I have had any problems... but I remember the struggle I used to feel when I was on my own without the band... and it would be very scary for me. shanna 0 Posted April 13, 2006 Thanks, Rica! Yep! Constant struggle. I gained 10 pounds last week. I guess my body was replinishing what it lost during the time I was so sick. Even though I understand why - it's so hard to see the scale going up so quickly. The last few days has been better - maintaining. It is SO much harder without the band - I had forgotten... Thanks for the support - it's much appreciated. Have a great day,
Kathybirdseye 0 Posted April 14, 2006 dont Get Discouraged.....after You Start On Solid Foods You Do Have A Slow Down/standstill. I Came To A Complete Standstill For 10 Days, And Yes Even Was Up A Few Pounds. a Friend Was Very Encouraging And Said This Would Happend For 10-14 Days.....she Was Right. A Was Very Worried About It Though !!!! then Boom.....started Loosing Again. I Have Had One Fill And Am Losing 2 Pounds A Week Now, Eating Very Healthy And Exercising 4 To 5 Times A Week. I Am Going Back Next Week For My Second Fill. The First Fill Really Helped Cut The Hunger.......i Was Starving......or So I Thought ! you Really Have To Work At This And Dont Get Discouraged, It Is A Slow Process. My Surgery Was Feb 14 Th And I Have Lost 30 Pounds. But I Am Working Really Hard At It Too. hang In There kathy In Chico, Ca.
laurapar 0 Posted April 16, 2006 Kathy you are such an inspiration to us all. I just hope that I can get into the routine of excercising that often. We have rain again here in San Francisco...and I'm so SICK of it. We had 28 days of rain in March. YUCK!
Kathybirdseye 0 Posted April 16, 2006 :clap2: :usa2: THAT IS GREAT YOU HAVE A SURGERY DATE NAILED DOWN...THAT IS A HUGE STEP !!! NOW YOU CAN PLAN AND PREPARE FOR WHAT IS TO COME AND LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING THIS DONE AND MOVING ON ! I THINK YOUR BODY GOES THRU AN INITIAL WEIGHT LOSS PERIOD, THEN STOPS AND SAYS WHOA WAIT A MINUTE AND YOU HIT PLATEAU'S. THEN IT SEEMS YOU START TO LOSE CONSISTENTLY AT 2 LBS A WEEK OR SO AS LONG AS YOU KEEP TO 1200 CALS/DAY AND GET YOUR Proteins IN AND GET THAT EXERCISE IN AT LEAST 4 DAYS A WEEK. IT ALL WORKS TOGETHER. SOME DAYS ARE HARD, SOME ARE EASY. YOU JUST CANT GET DISCOURAGED....I KNOW I DID AT TIMES....BUT HAD A FRIEND WHO ENCOURAGED ME ALONG THE WAY. I AM DOWN 36 POUNDS NOW IN 9 WEEKS. SO IT IS SLOW.....BUT WORTH IT. KEEP IN TOUCH !!! KATHY IN CHICO 244-208-144 GOAL.
Boo 3 Posted April 23, 2006 I live in Los Angeles and plan to go to TJ for fill. Does Dr. Powell use flouro for fills? I'd like to have an alternative plan if it is too much to drive to TJ. Thanks!

jessasband 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Best of luck to you too! I see that your Dr. is in Burlingame. I am in San Jose, but from San Mateo. Moved down here for my husband and still can't find my way around. Please let me know how it goes. I am really interested to find out about your first week post-op. I scheduled myself to go right back to work on 5/23. laurapar 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Hi Jess, surgery was on Monday and I think I'm doing pretty good. Still a little confused about the food portions and when to eat them. I don't want to take the liquid Vicodin, so I'm taking the liquid Tylenol and it seems to be working. The only part that hurts is where the port was put in. The day after surgery (yesterday) my gout flaired up and I had to stay longer in the hospital so that I could receive the meds to clear it up. All in all I think the last three days have been a success. The staff at Peninsula Hospital were excellent.
konrad williams 0 Posted May 10, 2006 I started eating a few days after surgery, but my wife that has a Ban also didn't start till three days after surgery so you can only go by how you feel. We are all very different so go slow and Happy Days to you! Konrad
