I found a nice tool to help with monitoring my food intake as well as how many calories that are burned each day. The online membership is free. You can enter in all the food/drinks you consume in a day and then all the activities you have done for the day and then have reports and conparison charts to see how your doing. Also there are sections to keep track of your weight and measurements so you can monitor your progress as you build your new body!!! So check it out. It's FREE!!!

That is a good one. I use www.thedailyplate.com . It is also free and I love it.

Hi Susan! I will have to go and check that site out! Very cool thanks for sharing!

one difference I've noticed in the 2 is that on the daily plate, you can find foods by brand names and I wasn't able to do that on fitday.

I like fitday I just used it today...ditto about name brand food I had to customize a lot of food but I like the set up...oh and you can't go back in time with your weight it starts you the day you sign up. I'm gonna go try daily plate next:wink_smile:

O.K. sooooo I 've tried both now fit day is way more user friendly but DP's food choices is better ,maybe theres just a learning curve to using it...I do get confused often:wink_smile:

seemed DP would be better in the long run but i'm lazy and fit day was easier.......are there any others??

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
