Intestinal Distress

Recommended Posts

My doctor put me on soft foods last Thursday. Starting about that Sunday I have had intestinal cramps and have had to run to the bathroom. Since Friday that just past I have had full fledged diareha (how the heck do you spell that). I called the doctor on friday and he said that it was just a virus. My concern is that the pains started only a day or two after being put on soft foods. I asked the doctor if i should go back on liquids and he said no. Am I eating foods that are too spicy? I was on liquids for 6 weeks, could that have something to do with it? Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Are you taking any sort of Fiber supplement - or where you when you were on liquids? Going from liquids to solids will often cause that kind of disruption in the intestine. Especially if you weren't taking a fiber supplement.

Okay...well...you've just majorly disrupted how your body takes in and digests foods and I think it's normal for the ol' insides to whack out for a bit because of it. I had full diarreah for the whole time I was on liquids and now on to mushies I still have it occasionally. Last week I also experienced Constipation for the first time in my life. I know my intenstines are kind of sensitive to changes so I'm riding this one out.
