Any SWLC bandsters out there??

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm going on the 16th for my consultation.

I talked to 2 other clinic"s and seem pretty confident in SWLC.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Cathy

I was banded on Oct 1 at SWLC, very very happy with the procedure and the results, so far. Very professional, and very caring. I even attended a Christmas dinner that the support group organized, and both drs. from the clinic attended and were more than happy to talk to everyone(over 60 people were there). The follow up care is also very good, and the clinic itself in terms of success has amazing statistics. You should be very comfortable going there.

All the best to you.

Was banded at SWLC in Aug 2007. I nothing but good things to say about the clinic. The docs are very competent as surgeons, and everyone at the clinic seems to really genuinely want me to succeed. A bunch of us got together for dinner last week, and the docs came too.

I was banded by the SWLC back in April/06 and can't say enough good things about my surgeon Dr. Chris Cobourn and the clinic.

I also hosted the Bandster dinner last Thursday night at The Pickle Barrel and it was great seeing Michee again and meeting MacPherk. It was a fun night!

Definitely check out the SWLC website and message forum for support and to ask any questions.

Best wishes,

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
