ColoradoChick 33 Posted December 10, 2008 Hello. I am new here and am just trying to decide whether to do this surgery or not. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself! My band is my bff!!
teacherica 0 Posted December 10, 2008 It took me 6 months to decide. I made sure to do my homework first though, before deciding. 1. Went to the seminar asked questions 2. Learned about possible risks/complications 3. Found out how much it would cost me 4. Found a Dr. and asked about his experience 5. Met people who have been successful with band 6. Met people who my Dr. banded 7. Found a band mentor to get advice 8. Did 3 months with a dietician to see if I could handle the hard work post op. (I lost 15 lbs on my own) I have been banded for 1 week. I am down 25 lbs total. 15 lbs pre op and 10 lbs post op. I am happy I did this, but I will say that this is a lot of work, it's not a quick fix. You still have to decide to eat right... the band just makes things a LOT easier. TQUAD64 9 Posted December 10, 2008 I wish I had not waited so long. It is the best thing I could have done. I have lots of energy, no pain in the knees and my ankles don't hurt anymore. I did lots of research for two years WLS and just thought for me that banding was the best solution. Good luck with your decision.
