rm10040 0 Posted December 9, 2008 My surgery date is 2 days away and I am still smoking - I tried and tried but no success. Everything else is going well, pre-op diet, tests, insurance approval. I tried Chantix and I am currently reading Alen Carr's book... should I postpone my surgery? I guess I have to call my surgeon to discuss. Sorry everyone, I guess I just needed to purge the stress. Brandy~ 2 Posted December 9, 2008 I understand that quitting smoking is a hard thing to do. However, if you're doing something drastic enough like surgery to become healthier why would you want to put that in your lungs? I am not preaching to you because I was a smoker. I just had to look at it as I want to be healthy. I didn't want to trade one thing for another. I just simply had to quit. I used the patch after a failed attempt of cold turkey. You're gonna have to dig deep to find that will. I wish you the best of luck.
