2GoodDogs 6 Posted December 7, 2008 I have BC BS of GA, Fed employees program, BASIC option. It covered the band, the hospital and tests, less my co-pays. Everyone was a preferred provider. I think I paid $1000 to cover the surgery.

2GoodDogs 6 Posted December 9, 2008 The surgeon's office submitted as soon as I'd done all the testing. It was approved in less than 2 weeks. The surgeon's requirements: Had a sleep study, psych consult, upper GI and blood, EKG. Had to get a letter from my primary care physician that said I was healthy enough for the surgery. smilan 1 Posted December 10, 2008 I have BCBS of GA. Overall, yes they do cover lap band. You have to make sure your company does not have an exclusion in your policy though. Call your HR rep. and ask about it.
