Ok, here is my confession. Notice I was not on at all last night. Um, a couple of months ago I changed from yahoo to gmail. I never thought about the fact that I get my cable/internet bill electronically via my email, and never missed the fact that I hadn't received one in a while. Well, I thought about it when I got home last night and we had no cable or internet. Oops, better go pay that bill today. Hubby wasn't too happy, so I had to get, uh, lets say creative to occupy the evening. By this morning, I think he forgot all about tv!!

Water only today....I will not change my ticker ...damn holiday sweets...

Water only? I couldn't do it - even if I was inclined to do so, which I am not.

Isn't it amazing what we can find time to do when we don't have cable or internet?

yeah... DH's b-day was yesterday... his parents did ask about me ... oh i'm so lucky... what did they ask? how much weight i had gained on the pregnancy... this coming from the same people who - on our first lunch together - asked me how much i weighed... nice folks.

LOL, I just had a similar experience. My husband is Turkish and his family is both here in the US and in Turkey. We went to Turkey to visit about a month ago and visited his brother's house for dinner one night. His brothers wife was so shocked that I look so different (no-one knows about the band or even realized that I had lost so much weight) she actually brought out the scale, in the living room in front of both of his brothers, his other brothers wife, children and we had a weigh-a-thon. I could not help but blush down to my toes. I would never weigh myself in front of anybody, let alone extended family.

So in my head I am thinking "are you out of your mind???" all that came out of my mouth was "uhhh . . . ok." I would have completely refused had I not lost the weight. So we all did it and I found out that I wasn't even the heaviest woman there . . . and no one is heavy at all in the family so i was rather surprised, lol.

Anyway, that would have been really rude here . . . but it wasn't there, it was all in good fun and no big deal. In some cultures, invasive questions are the norm but there is no ill intent, we are just conservative here in some ways. His family has always been really close and accepting of me no matter what . . . really I feel rather spoiled when I am with them, lol.

Is it rude to ask about weight in chinese culture or just the norm?

Confession - I am sitting here contemplating working from home because I KNOW I will be the only one working while at work while the few others who show up will be eating chocolates/candies and socializing. But, I suppose I will do the right thing......maybe.

I opted to work from home both yesterday AND today and I start my vacation tomorrow. Honestly, I get so much more done at home without all the interruptions.

Donna, I love working from home, I am always more productive there without all the interruptions.

As for hubby, well, I went and paid the cable bill during lunch. But, I did it with one condition. Last night was nice because instead of going to bed and him watching tv, we had the radio on and talked and ....... It was so nice that I got him to agree to two nights a week with no tv.

a BIG reason i don't post in the evening is we (hubby/self) self imposed a laptop freeze (unless he has work issues) after 7pm.

if he is traveling or has con calls - i of course will pop on.

he's big on shutting the world out for a few hrs, and nobody interfering w/our time. we have no kids, so it's not a stretch - we always get US time... reason i like MY downtime on occassion:wink:

DH resents LBT and last night he bitterly complained about it. New Year's resolution - must make more of an effort to shut down the laptop in the evenings so DH can put his head on my lap more.

I'm in love with Edward from Twilight. My hubby is glad that I'm done with that series. If he only knew why we have had sex everyday last week-- because of this Edward. Anyone else feel like this who read the series?

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
