banded 12/3/08

Recommended Posts

I made it through the 6 months ins. imposed monitoring, did all my pre-op requirements and here I am banded! I look forward to the physical changes and triumphing over food because now I will be controlling it instead of letting it have the power.

I felt like a million bucks post-op but have been very sore since; especially my arms and legs. I think it's from climbing out of the surgical recliner because I was so mindful not to use my stomach & abdominal muscles. Being short was a handicap with those recliners. They should use those electric lift chairs to give us a little help up!

Just wanted to share that I'm a bandster now.

Congrats and Happy Band Day! I have 18 days to go. 12/23/08 is my date.

I am hoping that I will bounce back quickly, I'm planning on going back to work on Monday (6th day post op). I have a office job and will be back full time for 3 days then have another 4 days off.

I'm very nerveous, excited, and scared. But looking forward to my new banded life and being healthier.

Again Conrats and keep us all posted on your progress!!!

Macropsia, Congrats!!. You are probably right. It will go away soon. Have you tried the adult liquid Tylenol? It helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
