smilan 1 Posted December 5, 2008 Ok I read the post a while back about the "fat patch" which is essentially a hump of fat between the shoulder blades and below the neck. Yeah, I have that, but I also have a fat patch on my lower back just above my butt! Does anyone else have that? Is your sore? That patch took away the curve between my butt and my back. In fact, before I gained this weight my butt looked normal now since this fat patch has grown on top of it, it's totally flat! Just like the OP of the fat patch on her back - mine is sore. It is always sore if I push on it. I don’t know why. I really hope this is one of the first things to go once Im banded. That and the doggone back boobies! Carrie_C 9 Posted December 7, 2008 I do not have one on my butt, but I do have one on my back. Mine is sore too when I touch it. Mine has gone down some since losing weight, and I am hoping it goes away. The doctor said if it doesn't, there is a simple surgery that can remove it. smilan 1 Posted December 8, 2008 I could never post such a horrid thing as the fat patch on top of my butt! It's basically just a hump of fat that sticks out past whatever surfact it's on. Looking at me from the side there's an area just above my butt that sticks out. It's kind of rounded - a fat patch!
kimaly 57 Posted December 8, 2008 (edited) Is it the same as a lympknot? or are you saying it just where you hold a lot of weight? and don't feel bad, it may make your butt look flat but when you lose your weight you'll have one again. I on the other hand have a flat butt and the more I lose the flatter it looks or should I say gets and I know nothing about the part of the butt that sticks out. I just go from my neck to my ankles. my DH says I have a back with a crack in it. (that even sounds unattractive) Edited December 8, 2008 by kimaly
HeatherO 7 Posted December 8, 2008 I don't have anything like that on my back - but I do have a small bulge of fat near my port in between my rib cage and my belly button. It doesn't seem to go away and I have now lost enough that I don't have any rolls or bulges except for that one. It just wont go away even though everything else has. We might all have one or two problem spots . . . but they all might be in different places.
Jachut 487 Posted December 8, 2008 Those are common places to have fat. Most people if they lose a lot of weight will regain the nice natural curves of their back. I didnt have a "patch" but definitely the shape of my butt changed and the natural curves returned.
Carrie_C 9 Posted December 8, 2008 I have a small buldge where my port is too. The fat patch you are talking about is called a lipoma. If you search google images, you can see some pictures. I have one on my back.
smilan 1 Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks for posting ladies. Jacqui it's good to know that your natural curves returned. That's what I really want to happen as I lose. I know that Ive been overweight for some time now, and everything wont look like it did 15 years ago. To know that some things will regain their original curve at least makes me feel better. chocolate_snaps 3 Posted December 18, 2008 MY natural curves showed up! Before I was kind of a shapeless blob with a square flatish bum. Now it is round, firm and full just how I hoped it would be. I was pleased to find an hourglass underneath it all. One I am learning is very sexy. I have become sort of a fan  . But I dont have a "fat patch". At least I think I dont. My tail bone gets sore now from extended rounds of sitting though.
aubrie 6 Posted December 31, 2008 my hubby had one up his back between his shoulder blades at the very base of his neck. His was sore too, but after several years it began to give off a peculier odor. We were freaked out. He went to the doctor, and his fat patch turned out to be a subateous cyst. The lipids or "fat" got old and rancid and that is where the odor came from. We had it removed. Simple procedure in the docs office. It just took a few stitches. When he removed it, it reminded me of a raw oyster. Very strange. It's never come back, and that's been years ago. Do you think that's what you have?
Carrie_C 9 Posted January 1, 2009 That sounds like what I have on my back. Part of my reward when I lose some more weight is to have it removed!
