well if you get the vanilla one and add orange crystal light it tastes like a orange dream ice cream, there is this protien shake at Walmart that is fruit puch its good too and then there are some flavorless protien shakes where you can make your own flavors

Quick question, is this your pre-op diet and do you have to lose a certain amount of weight before you get to have the surgery? I am waiting for my approval.

Try Atkins or Eas - also, if you add raspberry or orange extract to either the chocolate of vanilla - it will change the flavor a little

pre op diet is not for loosing weight it is to shrink your liver. and protien shakes and chkn breast w/no skin and baked and broiled or boiled is good and tuna in Water and egg whites are good as well. I followed this for 16 days and lost 22 lbs pre op and my liver shrunk alot dr was very happy.

If he is requiring a liquid diet then I would just buy an array of different Protein shakes so you can mix it up. Thankfully you only have 5 days left.

If he is ok with it then you might have a couple shakes and then a baked or broiled chicken breast for dinner. The chicken with boost your Protein.< /p>

Only do what the doc recommends though please.

Muscle Milk- light! I love it. You can usually find it at any vitamin/suppliment store. I buy the already-mixed ready to go milk boxes, but you can purchase powder form and add skim milk. It tastes rich and creamy, and only has like 160 calories, 20 g of Protein, very few carbs, and only a few grams of fat. Excellent. In chocolate, vanilla or strawberry (only had the chocolate ones). I am 2 months post-op and still drink it daily for Breakfast.

thats not too long, I thought maybe it was a month or so. I find out on the 13th if I get accepted into a clinical trial for the Realize Band, I am trying to estimate when the surgery would be. Good luck to you!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
