Im in a rut!

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on September 24th, I since have been filled 2 times with a total of 5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I have no restriction right now, I could really eat WHATEVER I WANT as long as I eat it slow.

I have gone down to 270, then I gained 4 pounds, and now, I dont even want to get on the scale.

I will get another fill Monday, but I am starting to get worried, that I will never have that restriction that I was hoping to have, and that would continue to get me losing weight.

I DO get food stuck, well, I used to, not anymore, because I learned not to eat fast, and drink while I eat. has anyone else been here, and can you give me motivation, or advice?

Thanks in advance!

First of all you are doing Great... I see that you have lost 31lbs keep it up.. I also have a 10cc band. Right know I have it filled to 8cc anymore and I would not be able to keep anything down. So Thinking back when I was at 4cc filled I could still eat bread and like you said there is no restriction but when you get to maybe 5-6cc then you real really feel it..

Also U know that you should not be eating everything that you can.. The band is only going to assist you. You need to put in the effort of thinking what you eat before you but it in your mouth...

I am on my 13months after surgery and sometimes I get a craving for sweet and I have TOO many and it shows. U will learn that on something that u can still eat quite a bit but it is still not good for you..

Just a helpful hint.. Take your Vitamins.. I learned the hard way by forgetting not thinking that I really need them. Found out the hard way by fainting in a crowd room that my body was in desperate need of nutrition because food wise I could not give it that.

Hope this help.. You are on the right track.

You need that fill and you shouldn't drink while you eat. Meanwhile, try to be good so santa will bring you cute new clothes in your new smaller size.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
