With winter now here, driving to Toronto for a fill is becoming tiresome. I am searching for someone who can do fills nearer to Sudbury Ontario. Help.

Hey there,

I know what you mean....its quite the treck to make for a 5 minute appointment. I know that there was a Dr. at a sleep clinic who indicated that he himself was going to get banded and told me he would be doing his own fills if possible. I'm not sure if he did yet but can try to find out if he would be willing to do that for other bandsters.

There's a fill nurse in North Bay for SWLC patients so if you are their patient, just contact the clinic and they'll give you her details. If you weren't banded there, your family doc might do it if you ask him/her.

The best method is to contact your clinic and see if they have someone in that area who does fills for them and if they know there is a demand for a fill Dr in your area and they know about it they may find it worth while to train one...

Not sure who your clinic is, but you could also contact the post op support rep there and ask for help there too good luck fills are important.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
