Wow Ash, you're on a great roll. I'm so happy to see you doing so well.

I'm excited. Last night I started cleaning out my closet. I threw more clothes down the dumpster shoot. Things I haven't worn, haven't looked at and are in bad repair. Even shoes. I'm going to continue with that today. This morning I woke up and started cleaning out the fridge. Throwing out Salad Dressing etc, taking out shelves to wash them. Now I'm staring down my desk to work on this weekend. I'm just so darn excited now that I have my date!

My scale was at 229.4 this morning so I need to really work to get it down a couple pounds in the next few days. I don't want any surprises on surgery morning. Do they weigh us in our clothes or in a gown?

How's everyone doing? I'm glad it's not raining which makes for good walking!

Pat, be careful with that corn is all I'm saying esp. so early after surgery. Better email Dr P about that diarrhea too. Remember I had it and it lasted a couple weeks....She thought I might have an infection so I had to do a sample (a whole nother story) Candra and I in Sacramento kaiser, I've got my itty bitty container that I need to get the sample in, full. And they tell me I'm not in the system. Needless to say between the two of us were able to get rid of that paper bag ROTF LMAO... Turned out to be the kind of antibiotics she gave me during surgery. Point is let her know this too.

Jes - Thanks. She was great - she emailed me back this morning and said just what you said. That it is probably from the antibiotics she gave, but it if continues she wants me to get it tested. Your story is too funny - you and Candra are ahoot. Thanks for filling me in - it really helps not to worry as much. Other than the squirts I think I am doing OK. I went and did my walk around the block this morning and will probably try to do a short walk at the wetlands this afternoon.

Lee - sounds like you are really getting your life ready for a clean start. Awesome. They weigh you in a paper gown that is pretty big and had double tickness with a pair of purple bootie socks. (It is really cool because there is a place on the gown that they insert a hose that sends in warm air to keep you warm - you control the temp. It is great - along with Candra's green recliner chair, they try to make it really relaxing. and comfortable. I agree that you don't want to cut it too close - better to be under. I weighed 219.2 at my house without clothes and 219 at Kaiser in the paper gown & socks.) Also remember that you will be doing MoM and that clears you out - can't help but lose a little with that.

Pat, I'm so happy to read how well you're doing. Thanks for all the information. Have fun at the wetlands!

I've been cleaning all morning and having a fun time of it. Soon I'll need to get myself in gear and go exercise.

Lee ~ I was weighed in 1 gown only

Hope everyone is having a good day, nice and sunny here in Concord but I do see some thick rain clouds coming from the direction of Downtown Martinez...I dunno!! the sun felt good. I went to the dollar store, and Toys R Us really early this morning.

Dr Baggs is gone on vacation for a couple of weeks so you would have to figure out who is on call for him......

Dr. Baggs is doing his Doctors Without Borders. That makes me like him even more! That said, I did switch docs to get the surgery sooner.

Tamra, I got something called Protein pudding Dutch chocolate by BodyTech, at Vitamin Shoppe. Mixes with 5-6 oz of Water and is 145 calories, 4 carbs and 25 protein. I'm going to use that for my pudding stage. It doesn't taste bad. I bet if mixed with milk it would be even better to make it less sweet.

Good afternoon ladies and gent!

I feel good. I went to 24 Hour this morning after not stepping foot in a gym in approx. 3 years!!!! I did a step aerobics class. Luv them....and actually lasted the entire time. I did my own thing and kept movin' when I could not get the step.... Hey, isn't the goal to keep it movin'???

I have to break into Onederland this week. Enough is ENOUGH!

Ashley and Lee-congrats on getting the scale to move in the right direction.

I hope we all get moving this weekend and make something happen.

Wow Doctors without Borders so is he in Haiti than?? That would be my guess. Hmmm ..............I know I went on a trip to Africa last year and I was gonna cancel for surgery and he told me to go to AFrica and have surgery when I got back.............told me that alot of his friends were into doing charity work and it was more important than scheduling surgery sooner................but I didn't know it was him doing the charity work!!! Interesting he was very into my going to AFrica now I understand why!!

Impressive!! I have always liked him.

Tina,

I felt the same way, liked him even more when I learned about his volunteering. He's actually not in Haiti but on the other side of the world. A friend of mine (she's a Kaiser doc as well) recently went to Central America for three weeks to do "women's health" exams and treatments. I love that they're giving back.

Mo, you go girl!! You're gonna break out to Onederland this week!!

"Reggie-I may bring my 6 year old daughter...Now the baby...That's another story.... She will distroy you place. Don't want to get kicked out...JK. I may not bring her though. Daddy's got to do somethin'. Do you want us to bring anything????"

Yes Mo you can bring the baby, I guess you haven't met my son yet. He terrorized us a baby and still doing it.

_ Hey Pat how are you feeling?? Gee you are up and busy writing already. Very good.

Candra- How is Rambo?? LOL you are too funny.

- Jes- please bring me a brochure from friday when you come so that I can support. Congrats on the scale moving keep it up!

- Tina, you are funny "Sleeve"? Are you seriously thnking about it?

- Ash- I am glad you are going to carpool with Mo.

Oh I have to tell you guys this, I was driving to a meting on Friday morning, as I got on the freeway I became totally disoriented, I had no idea where I was, who i was and my body got excessively cold. I felt like my heart was going to stop, so I pulled over and called 911 from my cell, they sent the called the ambulance and firedept. My blood pressure was 208/110 and my blood sugar had dropped to 40. the had to give me glucose in the ambulance to stabilize me somewhat. My girlfriend was on the phone and she told me that I was slurring and I made absolutely no sense. I will be seeing my PCP tomorrow to follow up.

I tell you a higher power took over the steering wheel because I can't remember how I really got on the freeway and when I pulled over. I was very blessed because if I had totally fainted behind the wheel while driving, it would have been catastrophic. So in all essence ALL PRAISES TO GOD!

I hope you all have a safe and healthy weekend.

Reggie

Reggie - Oh my how very scary. Praise God you are OK and were able to call for help. Had you not had anything to eat that morning or did you eat something you don't usually eat? Very scary. So glad you are following up with you doctor.

I am doing ok. The diarrhea is kind of a drag - my lower stomach/intestines are very unsettled, gurgly. Feel a little washed out. I didn't make it to the wetlands because of needing to be close to the bathroom, but I did go for a longer walk this afternoon. I am over 5,000 steps on my pedometer and walked for 50 mins today so I am doing good. I still needed a nap mid day, but I was up longer before I needed my nap so that is good. Have had no pain meds today - no tylenol. The only things that hurts is the port and it is like muscle soreness. So doing I'm doing good. Going to heat up some cream of chicken Soup for dinner now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
