Pat-definately let us know how you are on Tuesday. I can't wait...Try to get some rest... Are you ready? Have all your supplies???

Candra-Is your right ear pulling/tugging? I have pretty good restriction with the 5cc's. Its just that I have to learn when I've had enough. The portions I need don't measure up in my eyes.

food

B-1/2 hotlink, 2 sausage links, 1 scram. egg and coffee

Mo - so funny that you said that - yesterday after lunch it was - it takes a minute for it to register that you're full and then bam -ear hurts. today is totally different - I can actually feel it passing thru the band & it's not nice! This whole thing is such a learning process ;)

so I have to tell this....I notice that when I'm about to eat like 5-10 mins before my chest starts to tighten up like it's going up my throat. Obviously it's my body saying "no more food, no more food I've had a enough" but do I listen NO!!

hey everyone!!

well, I found a place that cost $160 flat for a new window. They are coming tomorrow AM to fix it. Sucks things always happen when I am low on $$. My insurance quoted $250 so I opted forming a claim with them.

I am doing good on Water today after Candra telling me it doesn't stop in my pouch like I thought it did LOL!! food not so much. I forget to eat, and am not really hungry unless its the AM.

Breakfast - 1/2 cup cream of broccoli soup

Nothing else!

Candra~ who is the girl in blue in your photos I dont reconize her?

Hey, where's the pantie pics? How did I miss them? It looks like you all had so much fun judging by the group pics.

Candra, you really know how to pose. ;)

Tamra, you're doing great! I'm so glad you're down so many pounds. That really makes up for the busted window, doesn't it? Don't let anything get you down right now. Revel in your success. How's babygirl tonight? Is she starting to feel better?

Pat, you're so close. You're having surgery on my son's 36th birthday! It's really a wonderful day so I know you'll have an easy time of it. We'll all send lots of good vibes your way. I'll be at Kaiser at 7:30 Tuesday morning so I'll say special prayers in the hallways on my way up to see Bev.

I had a good day with the food. Went to a memorial service for a friend's dad, then to watch a movie with a couple of girlfriends. I ate 2 stuffed grapeleaves and the memorial and a tangerine at my friends. Not bad when there were tables full of Cookies and cakes.

I'm going to go take my Kaiser test now that I'm so close to my Liz appointment!

dizlizd - Kaiser Richmond is a Kaiser hospital in Richmond CA that does bariatric surgery - the other two are Kaiser Fremont and Kaiser So San Francisco - patients from N. California have their surgeries at one of the three. Most of us on this thread have had our surgeries in Richmond but anyone is welcome. Where did you have your surgery on Jan 8?

I had surgery in Columbia, South Carolina by Dr. Benjamin Tribble, a very good surgeon. My surgery was at Palmetto Health Baptist and Medicare paid for my surgery. I am a 48 year old disabled stay-at-home mom.;)

Candra - the picture of you three with the underwear over your pants cracked me up. I'm sure you got some odd looks.

Heather - send me a copy of your group picture - momcof3@frontiernet.net

I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday Pat - let us know what time your surgery is when you find out tomorrow.

It's back to the grind tomorrow - my boys and I went to the gym this afternoon and I did my 1/2 hr on the elliptical and my machines - I was sweating like a pig when I got done.

Ok so now we have Coco which is Nicole (Canolie) and Left Boob which is Tamra - any other nicknames? Gotta go play Pictureka with my kids as I promised them I would.

I live in Citrus Heights, which is just outside Sacramento and I have never drove to Richmond. Do you think I should allow 2 hours to drive there? Is it pretty easy to find?

Welcome Alison! I would allow 2 hours for sure. It's usually not that long of a drive for most appts, but to be there first thing in the morning you're going to get stuck in a lot of the commute traffic. You can't be late to orientation, they have no sympathy for it and they'll make you leave and try another orientation. Don't bring in soda or big fancy coffee drinks to orientation either. If you bring a support person, just know that they won't be able to sit with you, they'll be sitting in the back of the room.

I can't think of anything else at the moment, sorry! Good luck!

Tina- Which court will you be at? I work @ Ridgeway.

Mo- Are you using large plates? If you aren't already, you should switch to salad plates, makes you small amount of food appear larger. And make sure you measure girl!

I did 1 hr 15 minutes on the elliptical today. And I felt great! I even signed up for the body fit challenge, I'll be doing group training every Mon and Wed at 7 pm starting in Feb. Woohoo!

Tamra- The lovely lady in blue is April (SmilinApple)!

Pat- So excited, your surgery is so soon!

Donna- We missed you!

Heather-yes gurl... I'm using salad plates. But mostly paper plates. Isn't it funny how our eyes can be tricked into thinking our portions are larger if using a smaller plate? Yes hunger is all innour heads.

This is truly my week to bust into Onederland! I am I have a 5lbs goal!!! By valentines day I will lose 5lbs!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
