Candra girl your like me I love when I am naughty sometimes. i lose...............so of course I never mind having a bad day once in awhile cause it speeds up my weight loss!! Crazy how that works.

Oh girl you gonna be at goal soon!!

Tamra I weight twice and sometimes more.............LOL. I have two scales side by side.......one was donated to me...............well I weight on both and if the weight matches than I know it is right...........if not I have to weigh till I get to consistent weights.........my scale is one pound under Kaiser usually..................LOL

Headed out the door but good grief thank you wheat thins...............I am down a pound today!! Althought I am gonna try to have a better food day today............

I guess when I am bad I am good..................right Candra??

Thursday next week works for me for lunch but friday is possible if Candra can come...........although we are all getting together for lunch and I will see Jes and Candra and Donna the week after..................lets pick a place and day!!

Everything went down fine. Maybe i should get a stupid preg test so i can tell everyone im not. But if i am id be in some serious trouble.. Mirena isnt a good match for that.. Im waiting for robin to call and maybe we can find it. How weired before fill if i ate one egg i was good for 4 hrs now im feelin yucko time for Water intake:D

Nicole I had exactly the same for folate (WAY high, but the Vitamin lady that came and talked to us last night siad that's fine!) and Hemaglobin A1c . . . . you are NOT diabtetic with that A1c!

Riley your good I don't know how to read that stuff......I will be interested to see how it is going for me vitamine wise. I have been good on Vitamins but forget the calcuim sometimes............bought more calcuim yesterday!!

Ah no fair today I forgot I am going to dinner tonight with all the people I went to Africa with last spring.........should be fun!! Africa was amazing can't wait to see all the pictures!!

Yeah i know im not diabetic which im glad for cause it was pissing me off that it was a possibility. Here is the problem im still feelin nasty in fact im crashed right now. AND, im trying so hard to get back. Sometimes i just wanna lay down and let it pass, but i cant with a 2 yr old.

Mike is at an interview... going on almost 3 hrs now... Not sure what that means. Its with intel...

Oh Riley I feel so much better cause I was a bit naughty and my sarcasm got the best of me yesterday........whew.........I figured I had done something a bit over the top (well ok I did do a few over the top naught things yesterday but did n't get caught yet!!)...........like calling Pam a sexy beast(sorry Pam I have to be honest and say the truth) ..............but I think we all survived that intact!! *******checking arms, legs, face......nope no bruises. think I survived**************

******I did brag about myself yesterday, quite a bit actually and today I will do better..........chanting to self extremely loud*******

One more pound and I will FINALLY be at 50 pounds down!! Half of my goal..............

I was losing with the fill too. Lost 5 pounds in three weeks........but that was on liquids mostly. I think now what I am losing is cause I am eating mostly protiens again. I was on a plateau most of June I guess my body is now catching up with my hair loss............LOL. I have lot alot of hair so it is about time my body gives it up!!

*****debating to self about over the top bragging...........but deciding I am well within the safety zone and my comment is 100% true --but reminding self bragging and exagerating the truth annoys others!!! *********

Love ya Nicole and her is to a day free of untruthful bragging!!! LOL. We can hope right??

      Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

        We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.


        This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.


        Compassion goes a long way :)

        Seems it would be more compassionate not to perform a WLS on someone until they are mentally ready for it. Unless of course they are on death's door...

      Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

        I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
