Hey girls, would any of you be able/want to meet up next Thursday in Natomas? We can have lunch and maybe shop if anyone wants to (I do!). We thought that with people in Yuba city, Elk Grove, Sac, Suisun and Woodland that Natomas would be a good mid way meet up spot...plus there are TONS of restaurants and shopping there too!

Whaddaya think?

Hi Nicole, I love my Mirena and I'm so glad I can leave it in for surgery!

When I had my CM appt with Liz, there were 3 other gals in there too (she was trying a "class" thing). Two had had hysterectomies, 1 was post-menopausal and I have my tubes tied AND have a Mirena IUD! She got a good chuckle out of the fact that she did not have to preg test any of us :-) So no, that was the one test that I did not need to have!:crying:

Not having periods can be caused by obesity too. I did not have any for the first year I was on Mirena, now that I have lost 40 lbs. I have a very light one (like, I spot for a week). I love it!

Well i always had very heavy periods, and i was much heavier before i got preggers, my heaviest was 285 and i got pregnant, then i went down to 260, delivered and went down to 238 then went back up to 263..

SO i don't think its because of my weight or i would have always been lucky, in fact i used to have HEAVY week long periods. I didn't bleed after delivery but they say its because i hemorrhaged.

Since I have got the mirena the whole no period thing yeah is nice, and also ive lost 40 now also with it and im still not spotting, every month however i do get the cramps, cranky bloated, etc, just no show..

But the main reason i want to ditch it is, i have seriously lost a lot of hair, im 24 and you can see my scalp everywhere you look from.. its humiliating. AND, i have NOOOOOO sex drive, at all. I used to not be this way even when on the pill/patch. I even sell products to enhance and they work but not great. Im just going to see if maybe something else will help.

So has anyone tried the nuva ring?

HOLY CRAP!!! I saw 270.4 today! Woo hoo hoo! I'm so excited, hopefully tomorrow I'll still be there (or better!) and will do my weight check at Kaiser. I called Richmond and asked what can my weight be to get a CM appt scheduled...if my goal is 270 do I have to be 270.0 or less? She said that as long as I was under 270.5 I'd be fine...

I'm so excited but also nervous that I'll be up tomorrow. I've eaten really well today but have only had about 40 oz of Water...need to chug some from now til bedtime.

I took a picture of the scale because it's taken so much to see it be this number! I started my "diet" on 12/1 so it took just about 9 weeks to lose 27.5 lbs. I'm so happy and proud of myself! Now I know how all you gals that are at goal felt on that day.

Also, I'm available any time on Thursday...we could either meet up to shop before lunch or meet at lunchtime and shop afterward for those that want to. My day is totally open so you guys that have older kids in school or jobs to sneak out of can pretty much decide when to meet!

I work in the Natomas area and about five minutes from the main shopping area in Natomas. I am so up for doing something next Thursday.

Congratulations SWISHBC!!!! So excited for you. Maybe we will get the same surgery and pre op dates!!

My weight is going between 238 and 240. Really frustrating the up and down. I want to get to 233 so I can Celebrate again. That will be 20 down. So hard to get the scale moving and such a victory when it does!!!

When LIz talked to me about the whole sex thing I told her not to worry I had no man in my life at the time. She just gave me this deadpan look..........so I joked around and said you know celebate as in priest like!! She laughed but said she didn't care that I had to have some kind of precaution plan since weight loss equals high fertility!! I told her I would not get a boyfriend as a precaution and she laughed and said she didn't buy that and to get some birth control in place!! LOL

I think she thought I was a bit wacky!! I was just trying to lighten the situation up a bit!! LOL

You tell me! Christine is amazing! I talk to her on IM all day, and this woman i feel is the reason I am still kicking! She says just the right things:)

I was doubting my decision and she told me to stick with it and make no changes till surgery day and then all of a sudden we went thru my fears and I am over it:) I stopped loosing and now I am again. She is wonderful. Now if her ghost self could step in me and give me her work out enthusiasm id be great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
