Tamra Tamra Tamra. How many nachos, and how many fries?? I'll bet even if you ate a 1/2 order of each, you did not go over 800 cals for that little pig-a-roo. Add that to your skinny latte and you are sill well under 1,000 cals - you have 200-300 stilo to go today!! Have a salad all vegies and non-fat dressing for dinner and you'll be fine, still on program. Last time I went out and pigged on mexican food, it got me out nof starvation and I stated losing again! I really think we need to keep our systems guessing with a high-fat, high-calorie (well, higer than 1000) day once a week or so to avoid the metabolic slow-down. We've all found post-surgery that we can't lose on less than about 1,100 or 1,200 cals a day. Lots of Water, lots of vegies for roughage, you are FINE girl

LOL Riley I ate probably half the fries, and maybe 1/3 nacho's....oh and a large diet coke!! LOL....

Tomorrow is a new day like one of you ladies mentioned, and since I have loss some, I WILL KEEP GOING!!!

ps - I think I want to buy those shape up sketchers. Also thinking about emailing Dr. Fisher with a weight update like he asked me too...

pps- I bought the Carnie book "Im still hungry" on Amazon for 74 cents!

OH I'm pooped today, only got in 3 or 4 miles today . . .and only 6 yesterday . . .tomorrow I MUST get back to my routine, but it's taking longer & longer in the AM for it to be light enough for me to go out there and walk! Almost an hour later than it was 2 months ago. . . . .I don't want winter, I'm not ready!!!

Anyway . . going to do a couple of soduko puzzles, fold some laundry and go to bed! G'night girls :-)

Heather - The Beck Diet Solution book talks about not calling ourselves "bad" if we eat something we shouldn't - we may have made a poor food choice, but we aren't bad. I also talked about this with my therapist and I am trying really hard to stop the negative talk to myself.

I was at Sam's Club and they had the fresh seafood stand up - the shrimp was $6.88/lb so I asked the lady if I could just buy 6 shrimp - she said sure - I told her it was a treat for me as I can't afford the big bag at Sam's- she said she would throw in a few free ones in for me - so I got about 8 big shrimp for 89 cents. I sauteed them with zuchini from my dad's garden, onion, and canned mushrooms. I had that for dinner and have enough for two lunches. yummy. I ate two soft chips ahoy a little bit ago and pbed them back up - why oh why did I do that - my brain plays tricks on me sometimes. My kids are making me crazy tonight - my oldest son is in a mood - good thing we have the Teen Skills class tomorrow afternoon. Gotta head towards bed. night all.

Hi ladies!

Oh yea i am excited about my cricut, i have been thinking of ways to make money off it and it hit me i could do classes with it and let people cut as much as they want for a flat fee.. And do it as a scrapbooking/card making night. And then also sell the cut outs.

Riley i wanna ask for .25 also. My thing is some days i can eat 2c or more and then others i can barely eat a shrimp. So i totally know why you want one some days and not the others.

We are going to the Bay tomorrow.. Well Vallejo, im excited, i hope mike gets the JOB! We will be at 6 flags at some point:D

How was everyones day? I cant stop putting stuff in my mouth!

Good evening girls! I've had such a busy weekend, my hubby was working from home all weekend (14 hour days!) to try to finish a project so I kept Sophie busy and entertained...I'm ready for a break! We went swimming, shopping, to the park, swimming some more, to play with cousins...I think she had a fun weekend and I did too.

I think the tightness of my fill has worn off too. I feel like I can definitely eat more than I could a week ago, it's still a lot less than before this fill but I can just tell that I'll probably need another one on the 20th. For a while I thought "oh! this is the sweet spot!" but now I think my body has adjusted to it.

I've been committing a lot of "carbicide" lately! I just can't seem to step away from the goldfish and I don't even love them that much! Why are carbs so damn addicting? It really annoys me. :)

I decided that this week is going to be MY week. I haven't seen a big 3+ lbs loss week in a LOOOOONG time and my goal is to do that this week. I'm giving myself from Monday to Monday to do it and I'm determined to cut out the carb filled crap. PLEASE KEEP ME ON MY TOES and keep me accountable...check in on me, okay?

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Okay girls! The goldfish are now under lock and key (actually I had hubby hide them, lol...kinda like I had him to with the scale!) I'm gonna focus on Protein, protein, protein today and see just how few carbs I can eat.

We're going swimming at the pool today and I'm gonna swim some laps while we're there to mix up the exercise. There's a new gym opening up here called Fitness 19 and I signed up during their pre-opening special for only $12 a month!!! They open September 15th and I'm excited to have another option available for exercise besides the stuff I have at home. My mom, 2 sisters and best friend also signed up so we can all meet there while all the kids are in school. I think I'm gonna like this all day kindergarten thing! I can't believe Sophie's school starts in a week and a half...that's NUTS!

MOrning ladies.......

Waiting for Jury duty!!

Well I think I had an episode that came very close to dumping last night. Lap band dumping which I didn't think existed. Someone told me it did at the last group meeting.

All over ice cream. I haven't had ice cream, or more than a couple bites in over 15 weeks. I went to rite aid and got two scoops. I don't know why except I was having problems eating this weekend and I figured the ice cream would be a nice treat and would stay down. I was up until 3am with the worse cramps and the runs!! It was very painful and the only thing I can think is that darn ice cream...............I thought I was gonna explode!! TMI I know, I know............

My system cannot handle alot of things anymore. But serious ice cream I would have never guess................not even tempted now.

Scared me a bit. So I am also back to following the rules 100% this week!! LOL.

Mine starts high school in two weeks. She went to get her locker today.............summer has flown by and I can't believe it has been so long since my surgery!! It has flown by.

Wheat thins are my thing I have to hide Chris. But since the last fill they don't stay down to well................but I still have one or two a day...............sometimes I regret it so I guess I should hide the box.

Even Water was going in and right out.............the ice cream went right through me...............ah can we say so glad I didn't have RNY cause I can't imagine feeling any worse than that.........and I know that was mild compared to the RNY dumping!!

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

We have to remember that everyone moves at their own pace. For some it may be harder to adjust, people may have other factors at play that feed into the unhealthy relationship with food e.g. eating disorders, trauma. I'd hope those who you are referring to address this outside of this forum, with a professional.

This is a place to feel safe to vent, seek advice, hopefully without judgement.

Compassion goes a long way :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
