momcof3 1 Posted June 24, 2009 I am up for going somewhere after the support meeting on Saturday - just let me know so I can make sure I have kid coverage. I think I am going to call Richmond in a few minutes to verify if my appointment with Robin tomorrow is just her and I or a group.
tamra. 6 Posted June 24, 2009 I have already felt mean ness (Not here). People tell me lapbands and Surgurys are the "easy way out". but as my bestfriend told me yesterday "I have watched you for MANY YEARS struggle. If you think this is it, I stand behind you 100%". AudsMom 2 Posted June 24, 2009 I just got an interview! NOW im nervous! Holy cow! How will we move to sac is my question, cause ill want to move, sounds like i got the job basically too. eeek. I hate being nervous. lol. Any ideas on how we could move? I am thinking of asking mikes mom to write a letter saying he gets paid 950 every two weeks so we can move into an apt. (thats his unemployment) do you think it would work?

tamra. 6 Posted June 24, 2009 Share your story! I want to know! Also, yes a letter will work. Let them know "He tosses his pay stubs" but "HR will give him a letter". Also, some places work with you, if your working and one is on unemployment! Check craigslist. places there are easier.

riley4183 0 Posted June 25, 2009 Candra is right, we ARE the nicest/best/most wonderful thread on this Board! oh I forgot coolest, that too And that reminds me, the officials at Kaiser can't give out our names or emails or whatever to others going through this process because of confidentiality, but I was thinking that WE could . . . . there will be other folks at the fill appt. 2morrow that have not connected with us, right? I am thinking we should like make flyers or do a "support group membership roster" with our info and ESPECIALLY with links to this thread! I would be lost lost lost without all of you wonderful folks

swrktp 1 Posted June 25, 2009 I will get the list for ya guys!! It is a low income/bad credit/evictions list..............apartments that will work with all of the. Hey Riley I did invite people at the last group fill but got some weird looks. I gotta tell you a few people were nice but alot of people were sorta the "I have it under control don't need your help" kinda group. I was sorta taken back by alot of the people there. Not like what I am used to with our group. My guess is ALOT of those people will there there with us as they all had surgery the same week as me......... Just different..............but sure lets try again. Or lets tell Robin and Dr. Baggs to give out our website!!
riley4183 0 Posted June 25, 2009 Tamra, about being scared . . .I was FREAKED that I would die on that table, leave my 3 kids with no parents . . . at my pre-op class, Liz said that they have NEVER had anyone die on the table! I was SO relieved . . .then I used the "preparing for surgery" CD, you can download it for your ipod at the Kaiser site - and I was absolutely calm when I went in. Anyways, I just read this post http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f18/banded-today-doing-great-96928/#post1257720 and thought about you - that'll be you in just a little while! I could be totally wrong here - whicvh happens more than I'd likle tomadmit - but I don't think your Walnut Creek class is orientation, I think you have to go to Richmond or SSF for that. We have both what's called an "bariatric surgery overview" class that's 3 or 4 hours up here (Kaiser Santa Rosa), and a 14-week "preparing for bariatric surgery" class that was the best $160 I ever spent! I lost 43 lbs. during that 14 weeks . . . . My PCP told me that I had to complete the 4 hours class before he could refer me to Richmond for orientation, but I called Richmond and they said no, he could refer me at anytime but to stay and the santa rosa classes because those patients are the best prepared. So that's what I did! The local 4-hour class had used to be a requirement to get referred, but it's not anymore. I would encourage you to call Richmond and ask, get referred to their orientation as soon as you can, but stay in your WC class and get your official weight taken there. There is also the "patient information binder" resource from Kaiser Richmond that you can get online, it has the steps . . I think you can get it from the link on the left here Richmond Medical Center, Bariatric Surgery Best! Riley Christine if I get lost in the AM I'm gonna call you!!
