AudsMom 2 Posted September 3, 2010 Pam I can drink now, but not anymore, i have started to bloat up again, and my stomach well abdomen is starting to ache. Including the port and my middle back. All the bariatric drs i called today the nurses said they have never heard of a pouch gone missing. They said the pouch is always there cause the band holds it there, and if there is no barium pooling above my band, something has happened. I just need to find an ER with a band specialist sitting there.... I was fine all day till about.. now. Im so disapoiinted in kaiser right now, i remmeber asking at orientation "what happens if we loose insurance" answer" we ownthe band you can always come in for consultations" Mike wants me to get a class action going cause he said he heard it like 4 times that id be able to be seen. swrktp 1 Posted September 4, 2010 Ah Nicole.............I did alot of research and I don't know what to say. I am not a doctor. I looked at alot of barium swallow pictures both slips, erosions and normal. It is just so hard to tell the difference to me. I really hope you feel better soon!! I also remember being told we could come back. But that was Liz that said that. Dr. Baggs very clearly told me several times she was not right that he couldn't see people if they lost the insurance. So sorry.............I do know most ER's don't know how to handle the band. I explained the whole band and fill and unfill thing to them last time I was there. LOL. Maria welcome back, welcome back!!! So glad your back and glad to hear I would be hurting if I slipped or eroded. I wonder thought about esophagal dilation?? I just want to be sure I am doing ok. Maybe going in and talking to him will help.............I know my band gets tight if I start to gain weight so I am holding steady. Not losing but holding steady is good too!! swrktp 1 Posted September 4, 2010 I did read that if it hurts when you get a fill or unfill there is erosion...........like incredibly painful.........when they pull the Fluid out..............reminds me of April no wonder they kept her in the hospital. Lee 19 Posted September 7, 2010 I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. I got in two great hikes up in the regional parks and walked the lake on the other day. It was even good swimming weather for a change. I hope you're doing better Nicole!
cole83 1 Posted September 7, 2010 Have you called member services yet? I find it really hard to believe you can't see you. I will ask around tomorrow...I work at Kaiser and can get you the number if you need it. My understanding with medical is if you have ever had a Kaiser number they have to honor it and I can't see why they would not cover all things especially one like that. Its like a car...they better give you some kind of insurance or warranty. I am sorry, I would be pissed. That was a huge fear of mine if I had the band. Richmond has an ER right? You can go in there...they cannot refuse anyone and have to see you. If you want the number to member services let me know. Email me rebecca_cole83@yahoo.com and I will check into stuff as best as I can tom.

Lee 19 Posted September 8, 2010 Hi Tamra! I was wondering where you'd gone off to! I hope things are going well for you. What sort of struggle are you having? Anything we can help with?
swrktp 1 Posted September 8, 2010 Hey Everyone..... Tamra your back :-) I am going into vacaville on Friday this week. After talking to Kaiser today I think I am going to get an x ray or maybe a barium swallow. Or even maybe some test to test for a streched espohagus..........there is enough concern over my breathing problems and the ER visits that I think they are going to move forward to make sure everything is ok. I really hope everything is fine..........we talked about slips, and Esophagal dialation. It is just to hard to really know without the test. So probably no fill but which is fine but maybe some answers. Oh they said you really can't be allergic to the band......that if i was it would have been an issue right after surgery not a year out. Mo you feeling any better? teach you about doing those cartwheels...hehe Hey anybody hear from Donna? I guess you all hooked up at the point west meeting. Hopefully I can get up there soon. momcof3 1 Posted September 9, 2010 Jes- glad to hear your 1 yr appointment went well - yipee - you had a great year and are working your band. I have not heard from Donna and I wasn't at Point West this last time. I did see a picture of her and Nicole (one who moved to WA) from this last weekend on FB and they both looked great. Also saw a pic of Candra, Ashley, Chrissy and Nicole - hot mamas.

Same 'ol song and dance. I see Baggs Sept 20th, and I talk to Robin a few days before. I need some ideas from them because my main issue is I get very bored eaing the same foods and same ways all the time, but I am also a picky eater which doesnt help ya know? Hope your all doing well. momcof3 1 Posted September 10, 2010 There is a Bariatrics Support group that meets Monday evenings at the Elk Grove Kaiser. I believe it is mostly RNY patients, but you could give it a try. What surgery are you planning on having? There are a few of us that live in Elk Grove. We should get together and walk.
