Lee 19 Posted May 28, 2010 Ash, you may do better with warm broth than Water. Many people like the warmth. I liked cold on my swollen Sleeve. I got No Sugar added Popcicles and they are 2 oz of fluids each. The first few days I had a glass by the sink and threw my sticks in there to count the ounces. My favorite drink was Sobe Vitamin Water Zero Calorie in the Fugi Apple Pear flavor. It tastes like watered down apple juice and is very yummy. I'd pour a glass of 4 ounces every hour and sip on it. Days 3 and 4 I was getting in 32 ounces. Day 5 I upped it to 64 oz. Sip slowly. I drank and still drink a lot of hot herbal tea. I'm not a big crystal light fan but I do drink it now to get in more fluids. Walk around a lot and it helps the fluids go down and the gas come out. Every time the phone rings, walk around the house while you talk. I slept on raised pillows. I was miserable from the stomach acid until around day 5 or 6. I slept on four pillows until around day 10 because I was afraid not to. My Sleeve is still irritated so I've had to learn which foods I do better with. Spicy things are definitely out now. I tried some jalapenos during month two but it doesn't work for me. For me the irritation feels like hungry so it's hard to figure out. Keep asking questions. One of us will have an opinion. Lee 19 Posted May 28, 2010 Tina, I think you're doing great with this new motivation you've found. Keep up the good work. You're going to get to goal!! Pam, how is your food plan working for you? John, have a great time camping! Ali - how cool that you found great prices at the thrift store!
swrktp 1 Posted May 28, 2010 We have a great thrift store in Antelope are that I have been using the last year. Jeans and pants are 5 dollars. Shirts 3 dollars. They get all new stuff on Tuesdays so I try to go than if I need something. Alot of the stuff is Lane Bryant, Torrid, Fashion Bug and much of it has tags still on it. That is how I have survived all the changes in the size the last year. Once I get to 12's I am gonna let myself really shop at the mall or somewhere nice.......LOL. I did sugar free popsicles and Jello for days and than moved on the warm Soups. THe soups and the warm was the best. Pre op I was a cold liquid person. Post op I am definetely a warm liquid person. momcof3 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Tamra - so did you take the June 15th one? Can they put you on a cancellation list? If not, I would try calling back next week to see if they have any.

MamaAsh 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Sad for you Tam-Tam, I hope you get your fill when you finally get an apt. Thanks Lee, John and Ali. I am full of questions, but I will take it one step at a time. So here is the most pressing question I have: I feel as though I have a bottom less pit for a stomach on the full liquids stage. Although I am not hungry, I can literally eat all of the portions that they have written out in the stage 2 diet. I don't go over, and I take my sweet time because I am fearful that the gas/constant burping will rupture my staple line (is that even possible?) But I feel as though I could eat all day. Is that because liquids are sliding right through me?
Ali2010 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Tam, hope you get the apt that works for you. I know its so tough scheduling these things with crazy work and school schedules. Ash, I felt that way also. I think its has to do with your stomach being irritated and the feeling of hunger vs. gas. Stay to your portions and let your stomach heal. Sip small in between your meals. Iwould eat a SF popsicle if I still felt like I could eat something after having my "liquid food". I still feel like I could eat more food than the portions, I don't tend to get that over full feeling unless I drink soon after eating. I don't have any problems with eating any types of food thus far ie cold, hot, spicy, etc. Hope it stays that way.
swrktp 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Tamra you could take the 15th as a holder and than call daily for another appointment. Someone will cancel. People cancel all the time............but at least you would have a spot saved that you could use to trade it for!! You'll get in sooner if your persistent. They do get grumpy if you call alot but I think like Riley said if your pleasant and ask how they are and are overnice they get over that quick. I think Riley used to always ask if they were "thriving" and they weren't as onery! LOL. But persistence will pay off....................you CAN get in sooner just make sure you know which days so you can jump on it quick!!
swrktp 1 Posted May 28, 2010 Happy food Log Friday!!! I need to get off my butt and fax mine in so I can get my fill next week!! LOL. Why am I the only one at work??? LOL

momcof3 1 Posted May 28, 2010 I am at work too - or did you mean why are you the only one at work in your office? I was here at work at 5:40 am this morning after taking my son to the airport at 4:30 - been up since 3 am - but I am leaving at 12:30 as my daughter gets out of school today at 1:20 - not sure when it will hit me that I am tired - so far so good. I just ate my nutrition bar for lunch - gonna have to stay busy this weekend to avoid boredom eating and kitchen cruising.
