Tamra - stick with the diet! once you get cobra you can get banded if your weight is below goal. You are already in the program and you can stay in it once your insurance is back in place. You've come to far to quit now!

Congrats John!! How nice that must be. Think how much easier it will be to go on vacation now LOL. Isn't it amazing how much damage we willingly (not sure how willingly) do to ourselves just for food? ? We'll miss you to tomorrow.

I ate so well today that I feel like I'm off program LOL. I made a frittata for Breakfast today with Sweet Italian sausage, shrimp, fresh spinach & Portabella mushrooms. I had a slice for dinner too. for lunch I had frsh basil, provolone cheese & sliced tomatoes. I stuck to 3/4c servings but I'm full and now I'm having a Decaf coffee for dessert. I even jogged a little bit on my treadmill today. Trying real hard to get back on track.

Oh, I had figured out why my cravings are out of control - due for my depo in 10 days LOL.

Just saying hello to everyone! so glad your all doing well and everyone is on track :blushing:

I wont be getting banned anytime soon, I am off the diet and no longer have kaiser...still waiting to have the phone interview from unemployment. no money, nothing. depending on others to help me. it sucks, I have NEVER been in a situation like this....horrible horrible.

If i do get unemployment I will get cobra and try again.

Have a good weekend everyone!!!

Tamra

I found this on the government website regarding government payment of 65% of the Cobra Payments if you are laid off this year - thru 12/31.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides for premium reductions and additional election opportunities for health benefits under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985, commonly called COBRA. Eligible individuals pay only 35 percent of their COBRA premiums and the remaining 65 percent is reimbursed to the coverage provider through a tax credit. The premium reduction applies to periods of health coverage beginning on or after February 17, 2009 and lasts for up to nine months for those eligible for COBRA during the period beginning September 1, 2008 and ending December 31, 2009 due to an involuntary termination of employment that occurred during that period. The TAA Health Coverage Improvement Act of 2009, enacted as part of ARRA, also made changes with regard to COBRA continuation coverage.

link is COBRA Continuation Coverage Assistance Under The American Recovery And Reinvestment Act Of 2009

You should be eligible. check it out. Don't give up yet.

John - Great news on the Apnea. I have a friend who lost a lot of weight (non surgically) and it cleared up her Apnea and she got rid of her CPAP and was so glad.

Tina - Congrats - Onederlander! So cool. Glad you are feeling OK - make sure you are gettin your Vitamins and Protein. My advise for getting your house cleaned / organized is to get a "wife" LOL!

Heather - yeah I think its the stress / head stuff. Riley mentioned an emotional eating class at Kaiser and I had seen their stress management and meditation classes listed that look good. I just haven't figured out how to find out where they are offered. I have been really hungry all day and I know I'm not really (have eaten on time and what I'm suppose to.) But also know I am mega stressed with all kinds of work problems. So it must be my stress eating triggering the hunger feelings.

Analynne - glad you are back. I know you want it off fast, but I think you are doing great. Just stick to 1 scale and once a week and save yourself the OCD!

Donna - Hi - I am new since you've been away but have heard you are the cheerleader/mother hen of the group. Hope to meet in person someday. Can't go to meeting tomorrow - we have to go dryer shopping as ours is dieing fast.

Happy Friday everybody...

woo hoo Tina, onederland...and don't it feel good! (you know like the jingle)

Maria just about a month away...it goes quick.

Heather I agree, I'm think I want to call Kaiser down here and see if they have any kind of emotional eating groups I think it will do me some good. I think I need a weekly meeting just till I get on track.

Wow John that's so good about the apnea. I really struggle with my CPAP I don't know how you do it. I've had mine since April. OK I have to tell this story..... Last night in fact, I snatch my mask off as I do every night about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way through. anyway my hubby says it's too early to take your mask off it's only 11:38. Half asleep I say well I went to bed after 10 so it couldn't be, and I throw it on the nightstand. So this morning he says "you kept me up all night snoring" LMAO:lol: So I say this to say I don't see me getting rid of my mask anytime soon.

Tamra, Candra is right stick with the program so that the minute you get cobra you can go get your date and have your surgery. At least you won't be starting completely from scratch.

You all have a nice meeting and lunch.< /p>

Hi Ladies!!

Jes funny story!! I remember those days. It will get better over time. I highly recommend a humidifier if you don’t have one connected to the CPAP. Couldn’t stand the mask but after nine years it’s easy now. So far I can only sleep without the mask when on Ambien. I used to snore real badly and it drove Nikki crazy so the mask has done wonders over the years as we both sleep better. So maybe it was my huge tonsils because I don’t snore anymore other than a short snort once in a while.

Donna – Nikki just landed in Germany for a work trip so I wish I could say hi;( Her second trip to Europe in a month. Must be nice as I’m stuck working eight days out of nine this week. I left a job last year because I traveled 40% of the time, she wanted me to stop traveling so much and now she is the travel queen. She comes home for a week and is gone for another week. Sucks. Oh well, as bad as the job situation is we are lucky to just be employed. Both our jobs are somewhat unstable…

Hope you all have a great weekend and have fun at the meeting!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
