Christine suggested I try in Women's Health. Maybe they won't be nasty there! Either that or I'll email my PCP and see what we can get worked out. I really shouldn't have to make an appt, it's not like there's all that much involved. I'm not saying the nurses aren't busy but it takes about 1 minute while I'm in there and most of that is setting my purse down and picking it up again. Do I really need to schedule that 5 days in advance? Really? Maybe I can try to go to the Folsom medical office since it's right by my school. Hmmmm...

Goodnight ladies!

Heather I always got a hard time when I tried to weigh at Kaiser here in Sacramento too.................

Ok no bruising and down 2 pounds. Back to 205 this morning...............yea!! A bit of restriction but nothing shocking or really obvious yet.........well see in a few days.

Riley confirming the 24th?? group or individual fill. I was told individual.............but I think it is group right?? Anyway I am 10:30 so right after you............I saw you name and told them to put me in with you.............yea!!

Well girls I am chilling so I am putting away the computer now!!

When he made me the appt. he called Kelly and asked her to put me in the 2nd group meeting in Spetember, in Pinole. And he told me to come at 9:30 no matter what my card says (it says 9:30). So yes, it sounds just like the other group fills! YAY, I am so glad you told me because it's the day before I leave for the Lake Tahoe marathon, and I was going to reschedcule if none of my girls were gonna be there! Richmond is closer, but group is SO much more fun! I will get there early again to avoid the traffic, maybe we can walk off 1/2 a lb. before the meeting! There is that nice neighborhood that goes up a BIG hill right across the street from the Pinole office. . . .

Oh when you all go back take a look at Robins id badge, she's a lot bigger in it. I think she's had RNY and I think Liz has the band. Liz made the mistake of saying "when I was going through it..." when she was talking about walking.

wow I can't believe how tired I am.

I think Robin has the band . . . . we have discussed her weight loss, she is at her lowest in her adult life, and she looks great! I don't think she has the RNY "look." Plus one time I could swear I heard her start to say, "my port . . . " and then catch herself. And Liz is definately pro-band, we are her faves :-) Besides, every medical professional that I know who has had bariatric surgery has gotten the band. Makes sense to me.

Well, TGIF of a 3 day weekend, lovely ladies of Richmond & more! How is everyone today?

What a day yesterday! A day out with 2 beautiful babes (very nice when around my guys all week, they are handsome and wonderful but so good to have a girls day out!lol)

So good to see you Tina, wish I could have met Dr. Baggs. How did the interview go? Or did I miss a post?

Candra & Jes, I so enjoyed yesterday, was good to hear how Richmond does Pre-op, and found the Vitamin nutritional part very interesting, you can never hear it too much! My fav part was walking the bridge, wow, I did it! Over 8000 steps! Wish I could do that a few times a week! Sorry bout the blisters Candra...I offered the Fit Flops, lol, but you must really enjoy the walk/talk, and u 2 took me the full lenth!

lunch was fun too, just chatting and of course, yes, eating AFTER the walk, lolol. IT was ALL worth the traffic to home!

So, it would be cool to get together for lunch, possibly next Thurs or Fri? Jes works Thurs, might be hard for Candra, Thurs, to have a true Pre-op lunch, so Friday? So post when you can...either day for me I believe is ok.

Also, gonna start the LapBand.com Lindora support on Monday for the 10 weeks, anyone want to join? It will take us to just before the holidays, Thanksgiving. Who's game?

OMG I am so stressed!!

So I went to see Dr Park today, everythings all good I'm back at 4 lbs under goal. BUT she say's oh you need to get an ok from your PCP and cardiologist! WTF?? I say well I really only have 1 week before surgery, today is friday and monday is a holiday how come you didn't say something before now? She says oh I'm sorry I should have...(HUH?) ....but I can't do the surgery until I get something back from them. aargh! ok so she says I'm going to send a note to your PCP and you should be able to get in to see her right away. Ok fine I leave and decide I better email the PCP to speed things up, well she's on vacation until 9/11 go figure! Did i mention that my cardiologist retired a year or so ago? I never got a new one because I didn't need one.

OMG so I just email Dr Park, she had better respond. I can't wait til tuesday to find out what to do.

Wow, Jes, I hear you, I really believe things will work out, if you are still waiting on Tuesday, I would suggest calling the cardiologist in Richmond, and make an appt, even today! Sometimes, scheduling it online can work, with the emails and calls. Am hopin for ya!

It's me again...still frustrated.

I got a response from Dr Park "there should be a medical doctor covering for your regular one. The covering doctor should be able to facilitate or do the assessment."

Come on I could have taken care of this months ago had I known. I now have 4 working days to find a doctor and get an assessment and I better hope they are not anti weight loss surgery.:sneaky:

I guess I better not piss off Dr P since she'll be cutting me open here soon. She probably already thinks I'm a nut job because I spent 10 min discussing the scar she was going to leave.

BTW thanks Donna, I need the reassurance right now.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
