Hi all -

Boy I got some deals at a little thrift shop by my house- my 12 yr old son tried to wear long jeans to school this morning but couldn't button them - and here I thought I could wait until colder weather to buy any clothes for them. Well I got him two pairs of jeans at the thrift shop for $4 each and he actually likes them. Then I went back later with them and found two pairs of jean overalls that fit the boys for $3 each- the boys want to be Mario and Luigi for Halloween. We went to Big Lots, Target, Wendy's (I had chili) and to Dream Xtreme and finally got home at 9:30 pm. We ate dinner at 8 pm. My daughter is going to have her birthday party at the Dream Xtreme trampoline on August 29 - she turns 10 on Aug 31.

Boy I'm going to need to rest for sure on Sunday after today and tomorrow.

Oh I forgot - yes I think it is funny too that we were eating lunch and talking about him getting a colonoscopy - not many guys I would talk about that with - and he had a turkey and swiss with everything on it - my little sandwich looked like it was lost.

Candra - I can't wait to get to Onederland - hopefully I'll get there by the end of Sept - if I get a small fill on Sept 9 I should be able to make it.

How are you feeling Nicole?

See some of you tomorrow morning at 10 am - don't leave without me.

This is sounding more like he likes you...My daughter goes to the thrift store to get her true religion and other high priced jeans all the time. Of course she can always find something since she's tiny.

I'll miss you guys tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the walk on the 29th though. Have fun.

I went Monday to my "Information Class" for weight loss surgery. It was informative, and I was told that the first time you mention weightloss surgery to your doctor, is the starting point for your 10% weight loss for pre-surgery. I don't know if I believe that having learned from this website that it begins at the orientation. I know I lose a lot of weight when I first diet, and I don't want to lose that momentum if it means getting the surgery sooner than later. I do have a co-morbidity, sleep apnea, does anyone know if that affects the amount of weight you need to lose? Either way, I'm excited to be on the road, having taken my first step. My doctor referred me to the orientation class, and as far as I know, I'm all set. I'm nervous and excited, it's a little anti-climactic as my husband is suffering from a pinched nerve and is hard to be around. I feel sorry he's in pain, I want his support, but he's really not able to be there for me right now. I'm doing all I can to be understanding, but he's making feel like I can't do anything right. This is not helping with my self-esteem. It's hard to keep positive things in site with all the negativity I'm getting from him. Has anyone here experienced this problem?

Hi Pearls Girl

Do not start workin towards the 10% now, that is set at orientation. AND, some people do have to loose less its all up to the surgeon and your body.

I am sorry you are getting riff from your hubby, support though is the key to this. Unfortunately.. but the good thing is we are all each others support system. Dr baggs even asked me at my fill, "arent they all in there your support" So they know we are all close:)

where are you wanting your surgery to take place?? You should join us tomorrow at the bariatrics support meeting it really is a good thing to go to!:o

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
