Hi and welcome to the bandster life:D

First off do not try to start loosing weight yet. They will weigh you on the 14 and that is the "starting" weight.. from that point hit the 1200 cal diet, to be honest it is easy just follow the huge list of stuff. In reality its a LOT of food... Since you have been reading the board you see what post op life is like.. way less cals then preop...

After you start the orientation and first couple appts as long as you loose the weight you can be in surgery in Oct or nov. Some girls actually had it done within 2 months, but it is rare. All depends on the luckiness of appt dates. Just do what a lot of hte girls did and call for cancelations, i wasnt a big caller so it went slower, but still i was in surgery 4 months later, coulda been 3 but i had a vegas trip...:)

Btw girls we are totally bummed right now, we still haven't heard back from ASAP. How long does it take to make an offer letter??? I am so stressed. I never called on the vet job cause i thought we were no matter what moving, now i would feel like a moron calling. I figure ill wait to get a job till he does.. too much stress at once. Im so irritated i just would like to know whats going on with my life!

Welcome! Yes we are a cool group of ladies. We have supported each other since day1. the 1200cal diet is simple, minimize your carb intake and slightly increase your Protein. I can send you a sample of my meal plan if you'd like. When is your surgery and how far along in the process are you? Please disclose some info :-). weight, how much you need to lose before surgery. For the most part we all know where we are weight wise and it helps us track when we fall off the wagon so to speak :-). We are meeting for lunch this friday if you'd like to join us( if the other ladies don't mind), you may get some of your questions answered.

Well i did ok today i guess, didnt feel to hot today and kinda bored...

B: 1/4 c egg beater, 1/3 c potatoes, 5 cheeze its 100 cal

L: 1/2 c spagetti squash, 2 tbsp red sauce, sprinkle cheese 70 cals

S: 2 c watermelon 96 cals

D: 3/4 of Left Over chicken, 1/4 OG Breadstick 380 cals

E: c25k & 30 min walk

didn't do so great today. ate good things just to much. Not feeling any restriction today. How weird is that? I was so hungry all day long and nothing got stuck and I ate more tha 1/4 cup for sure......maybe even more than 1 cup. Just really hungry today and I ate to much.........gotta get back on track this week.....

OMG Donna that was you trying to call me today!!! Oh I am so sorry! Mybphone was breaking up so bad, and had been expecting a call regarding my friend Renee's RNY surgery today, she had an AM surgery time and I was franticly worried about her I saw a strange number come up I thought it was her suster finally calling, and then all I could really make out was "lap band" so I thought they could not do Renee's RNY so she got a lap band! OMG it was not her, it was you! And she called about 6:30 and Renee got RNY and is doing well. Whew!

I am so sorry Donna, this was our snoopy day!!! How was your fill???

You know Tina I thought my band was being inconsistent, lots of restriction most days but then none for a day or so, then restriction again? I figured out that I have LESS restriction when I am dehydrated! Once I start to drink 64+ again, I get restriction back. Isn't that weird??

I REALLY blew it today, I was at work and had just bought a bottle of dry rosated subflower seeds, I opened it and thought to myself "OK I have a 1 oz. container in the kitchen, I will measure out my 1 oz. and hide this in Karin's cubicle," then I started typing a staff report and when I looked up, I had eaten half the damned bottle! OMG so I had to go log it, it was like 40 grams of fat and 658 calories!!!!! I put myself on cucumbers the rest of the day and vowed to excercise 600 more calories off . . . so I have done over 15 miles today, believe me girls, mindlessly eating those stupid little seeds was SO not worth it! I don't even hardly remember eating them!!!

Sunflower seeds cleqrly a no-no food for me. Like cheez-its, LOL! WHEN am I going to learn??

Ok I only ate 720 calories yesterday and even with that I PB'd some of it...........no wonder I was so hungry today. I ate I think..........1600+ calories today.

B: Broccoli Soup and salad (Panera 500 cal)

L: Egg salad sandwich (starbucks 480 cal)

Sample peice of pizza at whole food (75 cal)

Rasberries (80 Cal)

D: Amy's organic dinner (380 calories)

S: Frozen Lemonade (300 cal)

Ok the frozen lemonade and sample pizza were what did me in. I thought the frozen lemonade was 90 calories that is what the girl said. BUT......when I got home and looked it up it was 300!! It was a snack at the movies I would have done better with a starbuck skinny latte...........hopefully yesterday low cals will balance out today.........good grief I was really hungry today and no restriction that I could even tell............

We will see what the damage is tomorrow!! Done for the day obviously........

I am soo excited about my party this Saturday I am looking forward to seeing some of you there! Let me know if you didnt get the evite.. it has all the info to make life a LOT easier:D

Tina i feel the same way today.. maybe its the weather??? I just cant get full. I ignored it for awhile till i had watermelon, i literally JUST had dinner and i feel like i didnt eat anything. Maybe this is something to do with the band, fluctuates???

I haven't been this hungry for months.........weird. My appetite was crazy today. I could still eat actually but I know this has to be it for today.............good grief I went way, way over my limit today.

Maybe I just ate to many sliders today. Yesterday the band was so tight I was thinking about asking Dr. Baggs to take some out at the next visit.....I had two really bad days before today where I could not eat much without getting stuck. Than BAM.......starved!!

Ok well I figure my body needed the calories today for some reason but I hope this was just a one day thing.

Good grief I am still hungry as we speak. Not sure if it is head hunger or really hungry!!

I have been home from work for 4 days that might be part of it!! ;-)

Tina i bet you will be down tomorrow, something weired about an increase of cals i tend to go down after...

I have a nausious im hungry feeling, thats when i can tell the diff between head and tummy hunger..

Tina yes you will balance out! You may have even tricked your body back out of "starvation" so your metabolism picks up again too, wouldn't THAT be sweet?!?!

Why do I even TRY to eat meat? Should have stuck to the cucumbers . . . . my son brought me home some rosemary so I boiled some old freezer-burned chicken breast with the rosemary, it smells fab and he likes it, so I pulled out like a tenderloin and tried - TRIED to eat it, I have tried 3 times and PBed 3 times, I am just not supposed to eat meat! Maybe fish I am still trying to eat fish, it is a good dense Protein good for a band but I just don't really want it. And I don't want to smell it! Give me lentils and a gardenburger, at least those stay down where I put them, in my pouch! Hey at least I don't have to log any chicken tonight, LOL! The boys can chow it down.

I am NOT nasious at all so it must be head hunger and with as much as I ate today..........well gotta be head hunger!!

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
