Has anyone had caffiene since thier band? I have here and there.....not much but sometimes I just feel like after getting up at 04:00 driving to Natomas from Elk Grove then to WSac then to Sac all before 6am and doing it 3 days in a row I really need it...I never drink much like its maybe a half cup, maybe....I know I shouldn't....Its strange cause I dont have it every day so its not like I'm addicted again like I used to be...

Just curious everyones thought on it.......

I'll order a half-caf if I'm really dragging . . .any more than that tho (like a whole cup) and I am TWEAKED on it and I feel awful until it wears off! Big change for me - I had 2 quad-shot lattes every morning until January of this year :-)

No caffiene for me since 4/13. I only drank soda to get my caffiene and I am really afraid of carbonation. I want to keep my band. I also AM very addicted so know one sip would do me in. Liz said no today that I wouldn't even like it now but I don't know........I did take a sip of 7up a few days ago to rinse my mouth out and it tasted way to sweet and thick, oily.......so maybe Liz is right.

Riley Nicole said hello to Dr. Baggs and than as he walked by she said "there goes the King........he turned bright red!!

Wow I am learning so much from the 118 page booklet I printed. The amount of food you eat the first few days is so small, it shocks me!

Do you really feel full after these small portions??

I'm a grande nonfat Decaf (since surgery) iced or hot vanilla latte kind of girl. BUT! I've gotten it regular and non decaf about 3 times since surgery just when I was feeling draggy and wanted the caffeine. I'm afraid to do it too often though because I had a major caffeine addiction prior to surgery and I don't want to go there again.

It's funny after being such a caffeine addict with absolutely no guilt how much guilt I felt the few times I had it with caffeine in it!

Christinen I totally hear you!! Caffiene is huge weak spot for me!! I am afraid to get started again.......

I still mentally crave it and always think I want a diet coke so I am still danger zone right now.

Girls I am so hungry tonight..............going to bed to fight it!!

Yes Tamra you do feel full, however your stomach may growl after surgery as if you've not eaten in days.

A big day for everyone! I had my first weight check with my PCP per Dr. Fisher's orders. Let me just say that I hate it when different offices have different policies about shoes. I could do shoes off at my surgeon appt, but at my weight check it was absolutely must wear shoes. So I weighed in 5 lbs heavier at the office than I did this morning at home! Ugh. Anyway, I will now know to wear lighter shoes. (I was wearing my tennis shoes with my special Super Feet insoles)

And, I spent 1hr 15 min on the elliptical at the gym today. I'm a little sore, but I think that's good.

Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
