Hey candy I hear ya about work. My work is crazy right now too............i do the opposite though I get so busy I forget to eat all day than want to eat to much at night.

Now with the fill I can't do that as well without PB'ing.

Today I ate broccoli. I know not to do that. I just thought I could this time. Well I had to stop the car twice on the way home and throw up. And it was quite embarrassing. There I am out in the parking lot PB'ing..............I LOVE broccoli and really am disappointted I can't eat it. I chewed 20X...............arghh...........that was by far the worse time ever. I am on liquids today cause I am sorta sore everywhere now from that episode........

Ok so why am I so tight some days and than other days not?? I don't know what to expect.

I guess you figure it out. Broccoli- no, bread-no. They get me bad everytime!! Lentils- yes so far!!

I found another eating trigger. We were just notified today that approx 370 layoffs are going to happen in our dept. I've only been there 2 years so I'm a little nervous. Actually I'm freaking out and really anxious. I just keep thinking about food! I'm trying my best to resist those urges!

Hey Heather I hear that!! I work for the county too and everyone is on pins and needles wondering what will happen.

We are being asked to take voluntary forloughs but my guess is that they will be mandatory after July 1, 2009!!

Maybe I need to get out and walk too!! I have the pedometer on and just cleaning house and doing housework I got 625 steps this morning................I know I need alot more but it is a start.

Ah I am losing hair everytime I shower there is more.........how long does this last. I don't think I am losing fast enough to lose my hair...............good grief this is not he fun part.

I got that head hunger too! my brother is a fabulous cook & he's been BBQ all weekend!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the fact I can not overeat, the courage to stop eating when my portions are done and the wisdom to know the difference - LOL.

Tina, I've said this before, if it wasn't for my husband, I wouldn't be walking at all - we did 8,000 steps this morning alone and I swear he's gonna push me all the way to divorce court. Seriously, it really helps to have a walking buddy - there's a couple website called exercisefriends.com & meetup.com - maybe you can find somebody close to to walk with until you find your own motivation - I'm still looking for mine!

What is it about this WLS that makes your hair fall out?

Losing weight fast causes hair loss........but I am losing slowly!! But when I blow dried my hair more came out. I know this stops when your body adjusts to weight lose mode...............just concerning to see all the hair coming out.

We were warned about this at the pre op class so nothing I didn't expect but come on if I am losing hair let me lose 20+ pounds to go along with it!! LOL

Looked it up thanks Candra. I think it all comes down to protien..............LOL. I think the hair thing is related to not enough protein!! That is what the article says..........LOL. I should have known!!

Ah long day with lots of temptations...........and not much restriction!!

Liz said dont waste your time, if you're gonna lose your hair, you're gonna lose it and there is nothing you can do to stop it so don't waste your money on products to help with Hair loss

She used the example of a dog shedding, you can feel the hair coming out, see the hair coming out but the dog isn't hairless lol!

So you can see it, feel it, but no one else can tell

I agree - you can't really stop the hair from falling out. I tried Biotin for a couple of months and it didn't make a difference. I get enough Protein. My Hair loss has finally slowed down and I'm not bald so there is hope. I did have my hair cut in long layers and I blow dry it now to make it look fuller.

I am also having problems with head hunger - must be contagious. I work for the state and we already have 2 furlough days - we can save them if we want and use them by 2012. I have been using mine - since I have the pay cut I use them to do things at school or with my kids. Hopefully we won't get the additional pay cut - I try not to read anything about it as it stresses me out and I don't have control over it. Can't wait to meet with the counselor next week.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
