Hope you can make this month's meeting, we are going to bring the Wii Fit and demonstrate! Have you tried it?

Going to email meandmyweightloss, Candi, she was at the last meeting, to make sure she comes over to this forum.

I'VE GOT A BAND!!!!

Hey everyone! I'm home and resting. We're watching Saturday Night Live and I'm trying not to laugh, lol.

Everything went great, I have an APS band with 3 cc's in it! My liver didn't even have a single speck of fat on it and he was so proud that I was 13 lbs below goal. I was 257.5 and officially down 40 lbs! I was so glad.

I'm having LOTS of gas pain between my boobs and it's really hard to take a deep breath. My tummy was numbed so I can't feel that pain yet, but I'm sure it'll suck pretty soon.

I got home at about 3pm and have been resting. My folks will bring Sophie this evening in time to help put her to bed. I think I'm gonna go take a little nap. I'll write up my surgery story tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts, I really appreciate it. You're all the best. Donna, I'm so glad you're here! Pretty soon we'll be probably making this a post-op thread.

Ah great Christine!! Next week at this time..............

Please let me know how your doing throughout the week so I will know what to expect.

And you survived the ride home, morphine??

Any tips you can pass on for me?

Excited it all went well for you!!

Thanks Tina, actually I didn't get morphine for the way home but the ride was totally fine. Gail (my nurse) just gave me my first dose of lortab 15 min before leaving instead. I didn't want such a hard drug in me...I don't really like medicine so it's tough to even take this much. We even hit a few bumps that were unavoidable and it didn't hurt at all. There was no traffic and it took just about an hour, no biggie at all.

I don't have any tips YET cuz I still feel pretty shi*ty but I bet I will soon. Oh, I guess one would be to have someone to help you in and out of the bed and chairs. It's impossible to get up, at least today.

I went outside and walked with hubby for about 1/2 hour REALLY slowly, it felt good but it's still hurts to take a deep breath. Painful AND annoying.

I just took another dose of Lortab at 5:45 and let me tell you--KEEP ON TOP OF IT. I was so uncomfortable and really ready to take it even though it tastes like crap.

I've been peeing like a race horse too! I guess I'm getting all of those fluids out of me. And I'm naughty and curious and I weighed, lol. I was 257.5 this morning and 259.8 at about 5pm. Not as bad as I thought it would be...can it still go up? I wouldn't think it would, but...I'm totally gonna weigh everyday, I don't care that I still have gas and Fluid in me, I'm too curious!

I'm definitely feeling better now that the meds have kicked in some. Thank god for codeine!

Christine! You have been in my thoughts oooo since about 4am:) Talk about no sleep! Then at 6 i was like ok shes on the way.. then 8 YAY SHES asleep.. then 9 Shes in recovery and now 10, and im waiting to hear from you!...

I hope the barium is easy for you! I know you gagged on MOM... so lemme know:)

I even had a dream at about 7:30 about you getting checked in to some other area and i was sitting in the main area, and then they brought like 50 patients into the preop and post op areas... (you know how crowded that would be) then i woke up lol...

Riley: Yesterday i could NOT eat dinner.. i dont know what it was, the thought of it made me feel pain.. I think what happened is, i had a tea and added some milk to make it more creamy (didnt work) well.. since i did that i felt a ball in my stomach.. Well this mornin i was starvin!!! Now im fine:) Did that ever happen to u??? I am soooo excited about mushies!! And I am sure ALL of us would LOVE some recipes:) I also asked liz if i could put off the clear to liquid stage.. but i ended up not..

Hey riley question did ur port incession ever spot bleed?? My nite shirt has spots on it, and now i a yellowish bruise.. I did sleep on my port side last night i wonder if thats why.....?

SO.. noone ever commented on my "lets get together and feed the ducks" date.. lol. We could always go shoppin but liz said not to buy clothes... I miss my girls! But i dont wanna do a food lunch date...most of us will be on liquids or mushies.. so Tina gets banded next week right??? Why dont we plan on May 1??? She should be feeling plenty fine by then!:beer_yum::(

I am so proud of all of us!

Oh and I love my band i read the post op area and people say they regret it.. dude, in 6 days i am down 11 lbs!

LOL Nicole! yes the first sounds fine hopefully I will have a case manager appointment by then.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
