heidib 15 Posted December 3, 2008 sounds good. Are these pretty moist? How much fat?
spudgirl 0 Posted December 4, 2008 They are pretty moist and tasty but i'm not sure how much fat. I just found the recipe from a crock pot recipe book and it doesn't list the nutritional info. sorry. they are good though.
heidib 15 Posted December 4, 2008 ok thanks. I guess I'll just look at the bag i buy. :-)
georgia girl 35 Posted December 7, 2008 This is similar to the ones I make. I use a frozen pkg of frozen meatballs (homestyle), 2 jars of chili sauce and 1 jar of grape jelly. I've even made it with low sugar jelly and it was good.
jackiebee 1 Posted December 18, 2008 I do something similar but use the "Lil Smokies" with 1 bottle of any BBQ Sauce, 1/2 jar of Grape Jelly and a Jigger of Whiskey (like Crown Royal, Jack Daniels etc). Cook on low for 3 hours in crock pot. 1 bama_mommy03 reacted to this
phyllser 3 Posted December 18, 2008 Jar of grape jelly and a bottle of catsup works too.
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted December 18, 2008 Can you buy the meatballs already made? That is convenient! Do they have these at Walmart, and if so, where?
kcmagu 3 Posted January 1, 2009 My family changed the grape jelly to apple jelly (we actually just made this for the holidays and used dickinson's apple cinnamon jelly) - oh my gosh were they ever good!! The flavors just melded and were so tender. 1 bama_mommy03 reacted to this
georgia girl 35 Posted January 2, 2009 Can you buy the meatballs already made? That is convenient! Do they have these at Walmart, and if so, where? I get mine from Walmart. I think the brand name is Rosina...I get the homestyle, but they also have italian and sweedish too I think. My family changed the grape jelly to apple jelly (we actually just made this for the holidays and used dickinson's apple cinnamon jelly) - oh my gosh were they ever good!! The flavors just melded and were so tender. That sounds really good!! I've got meatballs in the slow cooker now...I wish I had some of the apple jelly. Did you use apple jelly and chili sauce??
kcmagu 3 Posted January 2, 2009 Yes apple jelly and chili sauce - who knew goodness could be so easy

Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted January 6, 2009 Where in Walmart are these already made meatballs? Are they by the frozen dinners?
Rchavez101 0 Posted January 10, 2011 For those of you who have made this what kind or brand of chilie sauce did you use. I just made it today. My wifed picked up some sort of asian style sweet chile sauce. It turned out ok but was not something to get excited over. I would like something that had some more kick to it. Over all this could be a good food. It went down very easy.
PhillyGirl 0 Posted January 10, 2011 As someone who's watching fat AND sugar, these sound nummy (especially with the apple jelly!), but too high in sugar for me. Guess I could try fiddling around with lower-sugar/Splenda-ized versions of this ...
