1 pkg (about 1lb) frozen cocktail-size turkey or beef meatballs

1/2 c maple Syrup

1 jar (12oz) chili sauce

1 jar (12oz) grape jelly

Place meatballs, syrup, chili sauce and jelly in crock pot slow cooker. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on low 3 to 4hrs or on high 2 to 3hrs. Serve warm.

Makes 10-12 servings.

They are pretty moist and tasty but i'm not sure how much fat. I just found the recipe from a crock pot recipe book and it doesn't list the nutritional info. sorry. they are good though.

This is similar to the ones I make. I use a frozen pkg of frozen meatballs (homestyle), 2 jars of chili sauce and 1 jar of grape jelly. I've even made it with low sugar jelly and it was good.

I do something similar but use the "Lil Smokies" with 1 bottle of any BBQ Sauce, 1/2 jar of Grape Jelly and a Jigger of Whiskey (like Crown Royal, Jack Daniels etc). Cook on low for 3 hours in crock pot.

Jar of grape jelly and a bottle of catsup works too.

Can you buy the meatballs already made? That is convenient!

Do they have these at Walmart, and if so, where?

My family changed the grape jelly to apple jelly (we actually just made this for the holidays and used dickinson's apple cinnamon jelly) - oh my gosh were they ever good!! The flavors just melded and were so tender.

I get mine from Walmart. I think the brand name is Rosina...I get the homestyle, but they also have italian and sweedish too I think.

That sounds really good!! I've got meatballs in the slow cooker now...I wish I had some of the apple jelly. Did you use apple jelly and chili sauce??

For those of you who have made this what kind or brand of chilie sauce did you use. I just made it today. My wifed picked up some sort of asian style sweet chile sauce. It turned out ok but was not something to get excited over. I would like something that had some more kick to it. Over all this could be a good food. It went down very easy.

As someone who's watching fat AND sugar, these sound nummy (especially with the apple jelly!), but too high in sugar for me.

Guess I could try fiddling around with lower-sugar/Splenda-ized versions of this ...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
