I have been away from LBT for about three months, and I am back now.....to stay. I have had my ups and downs in the last three months. One thing is that the job I had...was eliminated, so they had to give me my previous job....which requires me to be on the road a lot, and by the time I get home I am tried and just want to go to bed. I was banded on 4 February 2008, so I am coming up on my band-versary. And I need support!!!

93 lbs lost....man you are still kicking some serious ass! Your post sounds a little down, but your numbers are good. Sucks about the job. Just hang in there.

I definitely agree with Plain that you're kicking ass-and are an inspiration to me as someone who's earlier in the process. The job situation has got to be frustrating, but (not to be too flip about it) at least you are still working. Nothing to take for granted in this economy.

I hope this group is able to be a help to you in your journey. Welcome back!

Bryan

Hey bassriley,

How much weight have you lost. The tracker says 83lbs. The banding weight and current weight indicate 50lbs. Either way that a hellava lot of weight to drop in 3 months!

I've lost (now-haven't updated in a little bit) 60 pounds since my surgery, but I've lost 85 pounds since my highest weight earlier in the summer (including 20 pounds in the two weeks prior to surgery that I was on Optifast).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
