Hey Listen, I truly appreciate everyones input and find it very informative.....:) I will remember to take it easy and slow, yes missionary is a bit challenging slim-n-tn, and pssst J.Joseph not that "I" need it but could you tell me what your wife used to clean her colon?? Inquiring minds want to know??

Those of us in a committed relationship while being obese may share the same feelings of the importance of performance especially while losing weight. Personally I find since eating properly and losing a little bit of weight and excising just a little bit (like power walking) has made a significant difference in the bedroom...for one my stamina has gone through the roof....where as before I was too busy trying not to get a damn charlie horse in my stomach.....(YES, AND ITS PAINFUL AS HELL!) so for those of you who may feel this post to inappropiate SORRY, others who dont mind discussing and sharing on a respectable, grown adult discussion.......GOD BLESS YOU! AND THANKS IN ADVANCE!

:)

The most comfortable when my port scar was healing, was doggy style. Lot less bending of my abdomen and squishing it, or any weight put on it. I think I only waited a week..

Hi princess,

The pre-op cleansing routine was a 10oz. bottle of citrate of magnesium at 3 pm, followed only by Clear liquids for the remainder of the day. Easy to drink (its not vile) and by the next day... completely empty and clean!!!

This really opens up alot of possibilities for the adventurous couples.

Have fun princess. Lets us know how hubby responds.

Princess,

One more thing... the magnesium citrate is sold over the counter at any drug store and comes in flavors like cherry, lemon, etc. I think that it is basically a laxative.

My wife and I have noticed that when she follows the pre-surgical fasting and bowel cleansing routine that I used the night before being banded, she has been finding our anal to oral sequence much more enjoyable for her. I recommend that some of you ladies try it, especially those of you trying to "keep" your man. Your men will go CRAZY for you if you do this!

WOW!!! :cursing:

I don't think I can take the thought of, "You want to stick it where, and then you want to stick it WHERE??"

I'm still throwing up in my mouth a little over that one...

I don't think the post is inappropriate.....I just found it pretty funny that you asked a question: "When is it safe to have sex", and J. Joseph, instead of answering the question, posts on how to improve anal / oral sex. And hey, if J. Joseph feels that free to post that......good for him. It's a good thing and a compliment to Alex (the main dude) that people are free to express themselves here, and to ask all sorts of questions.

But that still cracks me up.

I'm so glad this topic popped up. I was just about to ask the same question and/or call my nurse about it. She didn't discuss it at discharge time, which seems weird to me.

Does she think fat people don't have sex????? G-D IT!! I'm going to call her tomorrow and give her heck!!!! Why I oughtta.........

Okay, wait a minute. This might be what my daughter refers to as my "overimagination" when it comes to fat discrimination. Okay, so my nurse looks like Barbie, it's not her fault. I guess.

The only reason I wanted to get the lapband in the first place was so that I could see my honey's face while using the missionary position. (He might have a bit of a belly, too.) No, seriously, it's one of my motivations when resistance is low. There are lots of things to look forward to.........:smile2:

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
