my teeth hurt--vitamin deficiency?

Recommended Posts

OK, this is weird. My teeth have been hurting and nothing I've done is helping! It hurts to chew! I've had a dental appt fairly recently and have no issues. I've been brushing, flossing, and using a waterpik with warm salt Water when it's really sore.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

My dentist noticed something up with my teeth without me saying anything.

Gave me the Colgate Preventadent ... or something like that - prescription.

There is also mill paste and GelKam or GelKaam you can use.

My teeth are fine except the sensitivity has hit the roof - w/o cavitites. My gums itch sometimes too.

But I just chew my Vitamins and try to eat right...she did a lab test for Vitamin D and I am within normal ranges.

Just a post to let you know you aren't alone!

My sister, who had the band procedure done a year before me told me that going from liquids/mushies to solids might cause some teeth pain. She was right, except I've been on solids now for well over a month and they still hurt...extreme sensitivity to cold and hot.

I have an appointment scheduled with my dentist to rule out a coincidental problem. If there isn't another problem, I hope this soon stops, it is agony.

I ended up buying some "Sensodyne" or something like that and it really helped! The active ingredient is "potassium ..." so I will bet that was an issue for me. I noticed my multi-Vitamin only contains trace amounts of that. I'm going to keep using it!!

Mine started hurting too. BUT I also know I've been stressed out more than usual. Apparently I've been taking that stress to bed with me, and have started clenching my teeth at night. Dentist said If it doesn't pass with the stress, he'll have to outfit me with some rubber mouth thingy for when I sleep. Are you unusually stressed?

Just FYI, tooth sensitivity and pain can be sign of an allergy. That's how I discovered I was allergic to penicillin! If you are taking any kind of new medication, definitely notify your doctor if you have pain. It can also be associated with joint pain.
