I'm not sure that I could make this journey on my own. The inspirational stories I've found here, the support, the sharing of the good, the bad and the ugly - its bloody fantastic! So a huge thanks to all of you who come here, for making my day much brighter and this journey seem much shorter.

I would have to second that...I think the reason I have been so successful in so far is because of the support and stories and just knowing that if I ever needed anything I have 100's of people to turn to.

Thanks so much!!!!!

I'll third that sentiment!! This is a great and generous group and we all remember what it's like to be a bandster wannabe or newbie and thinking we're all alone. Sharing information makes all the difference.

I refer to this place as my band family's house. I love it here, it is the first thing I do when I get online, even before email. I have laughed and cried and really gotten great tips and support here. It was my "band family" that told me to fight with the insurance company, so I did and I won. It is my "Band family" that tells me I can make it through 10 days of liquids and I will, (I think). It will be my "band family" that tells me to sip, sip, sip, and walk, walk, walk, when I am wondering what the hell I have done to my self in a few short days. I am glad to be here, and I share this place with anyone thinking of the band. I too wish to say thanks to everyone here for everything you do to help me be a healthier, happier and thinner me. ~Mandy

Definitely the best! I too look at LBT as my family. There is always support when you need it, a shoulder to cry on, and plenty of friends to Celebrate our achievements.

I have made some really good frinds here and I know I couldn't do it without everyone here!

CHEERS!!!!! :) :)

*sniff* *sniff* Group hugs! I have the option of a traditional support group while I'm home, but large groups of people are vary hard for me. Even large groups of large people...

This place is just THE BEST and so are the people!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
