italiano 0 Posted November 30, 2008 Has anyone had any troubles with this? I was just banded on 11/6/08 and did pretty well post surgery. I lost 12 pounds before surgery and then 2 pounds after. Unfortunately, I have been visiting relatives for the last week and a half and I haven't been able to stop myself from eating everything in sight. I haven't had any restriction which is making it tougher, and I know my family is watching me and thinking that the surgery was a bust. I'm scheduled to go in for my first fill on 12/6. I hope I can still get it. Is it possible I've stretched my stomach out so much I've totally ruined the surgery before I even really started? I feel very defeated and yet I know the real work hasn't even started yet.
BethFromVA 5 Posted November 30, 2008 Wow, I was banded 11/21 and won't even be able to eat "normal" food until 12/19...
LovCali 0 Posted November 30, 2008 Just hang in there, it will get better, especially after one or two fills. I didn't feel any restriction until my first fill and then not much. I've had my second fill and now fill great restriction and I'm loosing. Just keep staying positive and try to get back to what your doctor ordered.
ShrinkyDink 0 Posted November 30, 2008 It's very hard before your first fill, the band isn't really doing anything for you yet so it's all willpower. Don't beat yourself up, just do the best you can and it will be easier after you get some restriction!

aubrie 6 Posted December 1, 2008 I got on the scale this morning and groaned. I have gained 4 pounds in one week. My surgeon wouldn't give me a fill the last time I was there as he felt I was doing good. Now I'm almost to ashamed to go back and tell him I REALLY REALLY need one. It felt so good to eat all the yummy food. I hadn't realized how sick to death of tuna fish I was until I ate turkey, dressing, gravey, pumpkin pie. It was like heaven. I should have given all the left overs away. I snacked on them for days. I'm so disgusted.....

You can do it!
Annabell1 0 Posted December 2, 2008 I did terrible too. I had my third fill on the 12th of November so that I wouldnt eat on Thanksgiving and I was really tight until the week of Thanksgiving then I didnt feel anything at all. But today I feel pretty tight. I think that is so odd. I gained 2.5lbs but am going back down now. Can you stretch your pouch in a few days?
OH Juli 15 Posted December 2, 2008 What's done is done. Chances are pretty high your band is just fine. You didn't do any damage. The goal now is to stop doing damage. Stop eating crap and start eating like you know you should. --I'm talking to myself too here.--Beating yourself up now isn't going to you any good, in any way. So stop it. Now make a plan for tomorrow and stick with it. You can do this!
