New here, i've thought about weight loss surgery for 4 years now. Finally decided that it would ultimately benefit my health in the long term. And only my health. This isn't a vanity issue for me. I was NEVER thin. Ever in my life. and I've never had kids either. For the past 4 years much of my apprehension toward the surgery was because I believed I was betraying myself; my appearance. I felt getting the surgery would be final testement of me succumbing to what society bullies one to believe what was acceptably attractive. I'm so much more than my weight. One of them being a rebel. lol....

I was born overweight and for as much as I eat healthy, workout, been on diets and surprise my doctors with my viseral health, still I have stayed looking fat. Albeit a shapely fat but none the less 260lbs solid mass. My BMI is 44:scared2:. not good. I don't want to get any worse.

Anyways, my surgery date is in April. I've lost 4lbs so far:thumbup: and have 5 more months of insurance required testing and dieting.

It really helps that the doctor guiding me through this is totally nice and absolutly attractive. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Good luck with everything. I was just banded on 11/11 and I know how long of a process it is. I had to go to the Dr for 6 straight months then I could meet with the surgeon so I know what you are going through. Stay strong and wait the time out, I can't tell you that It will go fast because that would be a lie. Keep in touch!
