Attached is a picture of Kris and the Bobster. Guess which one is pregnant.

OMG, that's exactly what I looked like when I was pregnant!! However, I gained 42# with the first one, then got smart and only gained 26# with the second one.
. Yokel is a derogatory term referring to the stereotype of unsophisticated country people. Guess that means us, Laura!!
Tooooo funny!!

I find the baby, epidural, delivery discussions quite entertaining by the way :0) . . . and as for that Nadya Suleman with the 14 children, she does seem a little nutty to me as well. I am confused as to how she can do all those fertility treatments and received food stamps for her existing children but looks like she has spent a few bucks on plastic surgery (her face looks unnatural to me). I can't help but wonder if she had hopes of cashing in on notoriety when she originally had the embryos implanted. If they have been implanting six embryos at a shot, she had to have known there was a possibility that they just might "take."

OMG, don't even get me started on this crazy bitch!!! Yeah, how is it that she's on food stamps AND paying for fertility treatments???:cursing::) Did ya'll hear she's gone into hiding? She's getting hate mail out the wazoo after she opened up a website asking for $$$!!!
I agree about that Nadya, idiot-woman that has so many kids. Reminds me of the little old lady that lived in a shoe nursery rhyme. She is a selfish witch and the dr needs to lose his license.
Amen, sister!!!

********

I've been sooooooo blue today and don't know why!? Maybe just sleepy but very unsociable all day. Long week and I want it to be OVER. Also got some marriage issues I'm trying to work thru. Nothing real serious, just trying to come to terms with the fact that a few things will just never change and I have to learn how to be OK with that. HA! Easier said than done. Think it might be a tad worse because Valentine's is coming up and I'm just not in the mood!

Kat - were you able to talk Manda into coming home to your house?? What's going on with the MRSA? How is she feeling physiclally, anyway? Hugs and prayers still coming your way.

Judy - Where are Jen and Joe going? Just to get away for the weekend or something official? Hey, i feel ya.... I'd die for sure if I had to take care of a little active guy like Ethan all day, every day for a week!! Yikes! You must need a really, really long nap!

Welcome suzyt!!

I'm pooped myself. My grumpy attitude really took it out of me today. I'm going night-night.

Love you all!!

Yeah that girl has had lips done at the very least, and I saw her website today asking for money donations and you can send her 'items'. I am just all kinds of mad. The website also hasa place to submit 'comments'.. I was tempted to write something nasty, then realized there's plenty of others who will do it for me.

It also baffles the mind, how she says one day when she graduates college--she plans to go back to work. Until then, she's disabled.. right. Wish we could all claim disability and get the state to pay for our lives, fertility treatments, and babies.. while we work on getting a degree.

Argh ok, don't want to think about this before bed..

Night V's!!!

Totally agree sistah! And the more press she gets, the more sympathy $$ and charity she'll get. It is like w/ Paris Hilton and other USELESS little NOBODYS...if we stop watching them and paying attention to them...they will go away. The state should make her give up some of those babies for adoption...to parents who can afford to feed them.

I totally agree with Pamela, and all others about the mother of the octoplets. Do you know that my health insurance is 600 a month, and I have a $2500 deductible, and a $5000 out of pocket after that. That is over $15,000, I have to work my ass off to pay for it. Then on top of that I had to pay for my band because my insurance doesn't cover weight loss. I think that people are taking the easy way out and letting the government do the hard work for them, and sit back and collect from the government what they should be working for!! Oh don't get me started on this...................

I have been very vocal on the thread about the octoMom thread.

The things she says and does just don't mesh.

They took Manda for another CT with contrast this evening, and put her NPO. The plan is to go in tomorrow morning, and remove any abssess or dead tissue they see. The ENT said it is regressing as opposed to progressing, so they changed antibiotics again....and are readying her for surgery. He said she would not be going home any time soon.

Kinsey's fever has bounced up and down all day....down to 99 or so and she feels pretty good, and gets giggly and plays with her beanie babies on the couch for a few minutes, then up it goes to 102 and she sleeps.....repeat. But when it goes up she complains her belly hurts.

She finally had a normal BM tonight, so maybe her tummy will feel better soon.

We just finished watching the Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice crossovers. It is so wierd to me, the men on the shows, if you see just one of them, you can look at him and think he is a nice looking man, then when another one of the actors shows up, it makes the original one look wierd!!! Like he has no lips, or he looks too scruffy. It is such a varied cast. Maybe I am just too tired!

Was spitting snow earlier, I sure hope I don't wake up to another storm having dumped a bunch of snow on us.

Terry, hope you feel better soon----I have been fighting the blues for awhile. Now they have taken up residence!

Valentines Day......we will do something super romantic....we will probably grab fast food with a 4 year old in tow as we head home from the hospital....be still my heart!

However, him being there with us through it all is the kind of romance I would choose---how corny is that??!!

Laura, labor is not all fun and games---neither is motherhood, but it is worth it! I have one really strong memory of labor. The LaMaze classes taught to us at the time said to pick a focal point and block everything else out and focus on it. So the Dr. is standing there between my knees! I delivered Manda in a birthing chair---so was upright. And right at my eye level, hanging around the Dr.'s neck was a medicine bottle with tubes coming out of the cap. I had no idea what it was, I was concentrating like hell on it though!!

Then I forgot about it 100% as she was born and all. So a few days later, we get our pictures back from being developed (waaaaaaay before digital and instant gratification pics!) and the first picture of her is right at birth, taken by my ex---and there is that bottle! And one of the tubes is in my babies mouth! So I remembered to ask him about it at my follow up. Manda was overdue, so my amniotic Fluid was cloudy. He said in cases like hers they suction the fluid out of the babies lungs, so if they have breathing problems they have samples of the amniotic fluid to help determine what the problem might be! So there is a bottle with 2 tubes, one goes down the babies airway, and the Dr. gives a quick suction on the other, and it syphoned the fluid from her lungs!

She never had an issue, but I remember that bottle plain as day, all these years later! I remember very little else about the delivery, mostly just her---and that danged bottle!!!

Well I am off to try to wind down and go to bed so I can be at the hospital as soon as my Mom can get over here in the morning to be with Kinsey.

Will let you know how it goes.

Kat

Good Morning, Violets..

I'm up and waiting for Ethan to arrive. Joe says he and Jen are going to a specialist about Jen's miscarriage. He says the appointment is at 6 a.m. on Saturday and it's 3 hours away. Do I believe that? No, but stranger things have happened this week. I'm just happy to have Ethan safe and sound here. We are going to Kris's for dinner tonight and he'll be able to run around their big house instead of in our tiny living room.

Terry... I hit 170 and then was so proud of myself I celebrated with.........food!! Then back to 173... then cruises and holidays and bam... 185. I'm on my way back down now and have a completely different feeling. I know my restriction is at the sweet spot so when I get back to 170 I'll be celebrating with........high fives.:w00t: We cruise again the end of March and I hope my attitude continues. It's not about the food!

We got some snow last night and the temp is 21 right now. At least all the snow and ice from the roof has melted so that isn't a threat anymore.

We're not doing anything romantic for Valentine's Day. I said no chocolate.. please! We're just going out to dinner with 3 other couples and each bring a part of the meal. The guys are supposed to provide the entertainment by offering up a Valentine. It can be musical, artistic, or whatever. The Bobster is more the "whatever" kinda guy. He's going to have the guys create a love story giving them each a part to write and they won't know what the others have written and will then put it all together into one story. Should be interesting.

Gotta go get some Breakfast started for Ethan. He'll be here any minute.

Kat... hugs and prayers continuing for you, Manda, Kinsey and Rick.

Michelle.. you can come out of "time-out" now. All is forgiven. And I'm haning another couple of air fresheners in my car in your honor.

Everyone have a good day!! BBL....

Morning girls. It cold a dreary here, calling for snow later today.

Sitting here watching the news about the plane crash. There was a lady on board that lost her husband in the twin towers. She was on her way to his hometown to Celebrate what would have been his birthday by giving a scholarship to the local high school. So many more sad stories will be coming out of this.

My friends and I are probably going to the movies today. I'm working really hard at trying to convince myself that I DON'T need the popcorn. Wish me luck.

Kat, I sent a card to Manda at your address. I hope you get it. It's just a little "I'm thinking of you" card.

Everyone have a great day.

Ok, ok, I surrender!! Y'all are the only ones I have met that like the name -- you'll not hear another peep out of me about it!!

I too am struggling with food and weight gains right now. I made it through Christmas with flying colors, but that was because I was so tight that I pb'd every other day. A little looser now and finding all the 'bad' foods that go down so easily anyway. I've been bouncing around the same 6 pounds for a month. I'm going to try to eat fruit and yogurt for breakfast, drink the Protein Shake between b'fast and lunch. The dietician says I need at least 1250 calories. I'm finding that hard to do with only 3 cups of food a day...suggestions?? I HATE to cook and usually have a frozen meal for lunch.

Oh, btw, Good morning!!

Still no server....I need to go see what's going on. Or should I say not going on.

Kat and Judy -- still thinking of you and your families...

Thanks everyone for the welcome!!

Morning Chicas~

HAPPY V-D! In case no one tells ya that...I just did! We have no "real" plans. Susanne is sick now, and am barely not sick. Our friend, Stef, her bf is out of town...so we were going to have a 3 way date and go to the local fair and then out to lunch or dinner. Our local Date Festival starts today. I've never been in 29 years of being in the desert. It is about 20 miles away...and it gets pretty scary after dark w/ tons of gang people. We'll go in the daytime. They have deep fried EVERYTHING. Deep fried snickers, twinkees, churros...the list goes on. every year people yap about the all the fried food. Sorry...that just sounds an IMODIUM MOMENT to me...no thanks.

I am nervous today about going back to work. I have that special child...which I will refer to him as ZR from now on...and I have been out of the class for two days. Just apprehensive as to how it is going to go...I'll let you know!

Have a great day!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh. I thought I had read recently that you were at an all-time low at around 170. Then read you had bounced to 185!! ... so I was thinking you had bounced from 170 to 185 in just a couple of weeks! I know TracyinKS and Jenn can have pretty big bounces like that, so it's not unheard of ... just not in my world! My scale is very, very boring. Although I was bouncing between 181-183 for the LONGEST time... since Xmas it's more like 184-186. :w00t:

Oh no, it took time and effort to undo all the good I had done. I'm just now back down to where I was when I was in Texas.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
