I have to say that me figuring out just how good Calorie Countdown MIlk, SF choc Syrup, coffee, vodka over ice is......... is DANGEROUS! My local coffee place is ordering me the Davinci SF Kahlua... I can't wait to try it!

mmmmmmmmmmm... that sounds gooood, Tracy! ooh la la!

I'm now in my "danger zone" part of the day... the time when the kids get home & I start to eat... & eat... & eat... just had 1 oz of vanilla bean almonds... hope that helps!

I got a call from dd's vice principal today regarding an "incident" @ lunch... a boy called dd a "cow"... so the principal, guidance counselor, teacher had an "investigation" and also a "counseling session" about it... she said dd was upset but ok... sheesh, where were all these concerned adults when I was in 6th grade being called "Boom Boom" on a daily basis??... but it's what they do nowadays... so I'm waiting for her to arrive home so we can chat about it... she isn't FAT per se... but she's not skinny, either... I so feel her pain!!! I really wanted for her not to have weight issues... it pains me. Here she is! BBL!!

Poor DD Michelle

School sucks!

I was made fun of in Middle School (not only for weight, but being the tallest person in school at the time), then I dunno what happened.. I moved to a different district for high school, got in with the 'cool kids' and never was made fun of.. so I had great self-esteem and didn't realize how fat I had gotten!!

I never got counseled in middle school, but I believe I told ya'll the story where the person who always picked on me, called me the name at the mall when I was there with my mom once.. I started crying so my mom (my hero!) called the girl out.. the girl who made fun of me was fat too--but you know, some reason that didn't matter to me when they made fun of me.. so my mom tells the girl she's ugly & fat (my mom who was particularly skinny and sexy at this time) and makes her cry.. ta-da. My mom said she use to feel horrible when I'd come home crying about being picked on.. I'm nervous about my kids, I so don't want them to have weight issues. On the other hand, kids will get picked on for SOMETHING.. so even if it isn't weight, they'll have something 'wrong' with them. My mom was tall and skinny, and they always called her sparrow legs--my granny too.

My customer thing isn't resolved, but I got a rational answer to give to the customer (with help from the people I was waiting on, who aren't hormonal!). I await their answer, I'm sure I won't like it but I'm trying hard to keep a level head.

No chocolate in sight hah, but I did get a fruit plate w/cream cheese dipping sauce from the deli down the road.. mmm.

I also had 1/2 of a poboy sandwhich with roast beef & onions. Can't wait till this weekend, I need to relax and take care of things I'm behind on.

Russ is having one of his brothers come down, and Sunday we are celebrating a few birthdays with the family (me, my aunt and my cousin). But Saturday I will be catching up on cleaning and TV (yes, my important tv shows!!).

I wasn't really picked on...kinda one of the cool kids. But, my 7th grade PE teacher (Mr. StupidAssRobinson) called me BUTTERBALL! I was crushed...hell, I am still crushed...dumb ass MoFo! And my dance teacher in 10th grade told me to work on that "spare tire"...hell, now it is an entire tire store biotch! And I can still dance!

Michelle~ tell DD to say, "I may be fat but your ugly, and I can always lose weight...but you my friend are stuck w/ that face FOREVAH!" Also, teach her the one finger wave! All this great parenting advice lost on no kids!

I watched her yesterday on the View and just knew she was going to get nailed by the media. She sure didn't do it on purpose, but she sure didn't think about the cameras!!! lol

She's ok... thought it was funny... he didn't come right out & call her a "cow", but made some really obtuse remark that she didn't even get 'til later... ha ha on him!

7:14pm & I've done great w/eating & h20 today... can I make it or will I dive-bomb into a bowl of ice cream or other stupid choice?? I *think* I will make it tonight!! Phew!

I never was really made fun of in school, was always part of a good group, not the preppy bunch, but a popular bunch just the same. I was however well into high school before the boys would look me in the eye rather than the chest.....not that they were no longer interested, they finally had enough brain function to figure out staring straight at the chest was an automatic NO! to anything they ask!!!

Manda come home from 2nd grade crying because some boy made fun of her crooked teeth. I wanted to knock his new permanent ones out! She was very popular in school, as she got older, and most knew not to mess with her, she began karate classes in 4th grade--and was teaching them in high school. She still holds a levelled brown belt in Aikido! She run with a crowd, but they were volotile, very dramatic girlie girls----always a fight between someone, and then the next day they were BFF's again!

Lenny was always teased about being skinny, or having a big nose. He hung with his football buddies, and was always a part of a group, seldom if ever alone.

Abbey got called a nerd frequently, but was not upset by it, it simply urged her on! She hung with the artsy, kids who did their own thing, labeling her was impossible! She always had one or 2 close friends and that was it. The rest of the school could have disappeared and she wouldn't have minded!

Parenting is hard. It hurts to see your kids hurt, worse than anything else I know!

I was so incredibly glad when they all graduated and were out of school, I cannot tell you!!

Well guess I need to run to the store, found out I have extra's coming for dinner, so need to add some to my plans!!!

XOXOXO

Kat

My Sam's Club carries the Davinci SF Kahlua -- it is just under $5 bottle. I don't know if you have one there - it might be worth the try!

WOW PAMELA!!!How cool is that??! Next step: The US Senate!!! You have so much to be proud of! ...and I am proud to be called your friend!

I wasn't picked on in school....just IGNORED. My daughter is 15, 5'9" weighs about 130#, size 5, and cute as a bug! She gets picked on for being too tall, too 'annoying', too hyper, too smart, etc, etc, etc. She's just as insecure as any kid out there (well, almost) and is trying to find her way just like we all did. High School, and Middle School too, just plain ol' suck. I keep telling my kids that life doesn't really begin until college....when all these kids actually become somewhat HUMAN.

tracyK - I didn't actually dive into a vat of chocolate but what pisses me off is that i have to have some every freaking day. I can tell myself 1000x that I'm not going to have any sweets today....but then I always do. It is most definitely my weakest link. I don't binge on it, I just can't NOT have any. It's ridiculous and I beat myself up for it constantly, which isn't good either.

I gotta go find some dinner.....BBL.

Hi Violets, TracyKS, yes I did put the tofu in the H/C soup...think next time I will try the immersion blender and see if it "creams" into the Soup more, it really has no taste, just looks weird....I was on the radio here in Chicago today..I was driving home from lunch with a friend and a short "playtime" at the casino-shhhhh...but I had a coupon for 45.00 and I was 1/2 the way there-it would have been a SIN not to take advantage!!! LOL...ok, well, I lost my job in Sept, which was a step-down from the job I lost in Nov 2007...have been looking and doing some temp stuff, anyway, they were talking on the radio and they wanted people to call in who were looking for jobs...I dialed and miracle, I got through, got on the air, talked for a few minutes with the host, who is my fav...and they took my ph number and if anybody is interested, they can call station and they will pass on my number...who knows...anything worth a shot at this point. I just love reading you guys...Judy I am basically straight west of you so we get your weather about 24 hrs before you do....was beautiful today, but supposed to get freezing again this weekend!

Have a great weekend and I hope everybody feels better soon!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
