Plain, sometimes your taste in movies is just plain sophomoric!

I must admit I was thinking the same thing.

Look people. Some things, like the concept of "romantic love" and "gravity" are debatable. Some things are not debatable. The fact that Anchorman is indeed the best movie of all time is not debatable.

I have to admit, I'm with you on this one Plain!

He isn't funny to me. I don't know why. Then again, my DH said I don't know what funny is. I love me some Bill Engvall stand-up though. That is what I am watching right now as I get dressed. 15 Degress Off Cool is some funny stuff first thing in the morning.

Dear Dr Plain

I feel compelled to confess that not only have I never seen this "Anchorman" movie of which you speak, but I've never heard of it either. Who wrote the original novel? Is it out in paperback yet? Why are the other patients in your waiting room starting to look at me funny?

I look forward to your answers to these and more questions.

Regards

Fanny

Dr Plain

I do not think Anchorman is in the least funny, but that isn't a problem. In fact, that is probably a testimony to my sanity.

However, I feel compelled to tell you that your waiting room has an interesting (dare I say somewhat frightening)collection of women (I notice the absence of men with some dismay), some of whom are carrying bags of clothespins and cheetos, while another woman is fondling a bag of what appears to be vegetables and another woman calmly sits with a bag of wriggling writhing snakes.

I thought I was the only patient you had time or interest in seeing, but apparently you are in to group activities. Is there a group rate?

Bill Engvall is pretty funny too. "Larry the Cable Guy", though.....I just don't see it. Maybe because my whole region is populated with real life Larrys. Anchorman is rife with that weird non sequitur humor that appeals to me.

Because you're not wearing any pants.

PS- You need to watch a copy of Anchorman with your sweetie. It's a.....love story.....of sorts.

Well, it is kind of an intellectual movie, tap. Watch it again with a critical eye appraising the Nietzsche-esque themes for added appreciation. Plus, Brick kills a man with a trident.

Tap, let's not discuss my sexual preferences here in the open. PM me later on, with a detailed description of what you're wearing....

Look, my insanity is not a secret, but I prefer it not to brought up at every chance. Cheers.

Who would have ever thought that we would agree. I don't like Larry either. Mark this date down. It may never happen again.

But don't you want to 'own' your issue, and monitor your progress? You mean public humiliation isn't part of 'humor'????? So much for most comedy, video clips and youthful pranks. :tt2::)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
