Yes, well, this is awkward.....but you've both been so forthcoming that I will share some deep dark secrets:

I occasionally like to attach clothespins to my body whildst sporting a sailor suit. I find it soothing to yell at an antique Barbie doll that I've named "mother". I sometimes loiter at the produce section of my local Walmart and giggle when the elderly ladies pick up a cucumber. My oral fixation is so pronounced that I frequently must wear a "spit cup" affixed under my chin with a velcro strap.

But other than those things, I think I'm pretty well adjusted.

Wow Plain, I really missed to boat not snapping you up before your wife, you sound like my perfect man!! Got a brother I can dump my husband for?

I need some help with my obsession to gossip magazines. I seriously spend way too much money on them, but I need to know what is going on Britney and Paris' lives. (and the scary thing is I know they're not real stories!).

Yes, well, living vicariously through celebrities offers a sort of "glamourous life" by proxy. Escapism is healthy to a point as it offers a good opportunity to de-stress.

Prescription: Live the "Britney Spears" experience. Load up on psychotropic medicines and Red Bull, shave your head, and forgo underwear of any kind. Repeat as needed.

Yes because that is just what the world needs. A fat bald woman such as myself running amok!

I think she is the hottest woman on the planet.

And she really is a great actress...unlike many other pretty faces who are popular.

Dr. Plain - I go to this internet site where people discuss their most intimate issues, including their oral fixations...and as weird as these people are, I am addicted to their stories. I feel we are becoming a family (a weird one, but a family none the less)...what can I do??

I have heard rumors of internet sites pandering to the lurid side of humanity. As for this "Stockholm Syndrome" type of relationship you seem to be experiencing....clearly the power of these individuals seem to have a synergystic effect when they are in a group.

Prescription: Equip yourself to deal with the type of dysfunctional family that you describe above by ingesting peyote and listening to "Helter Skelter" .

How many times to I have to repeat Dr Plain (normally in the privacy of your consulting rooms, but hey, we're all friends) that psyhcotropic meds and red bull aren't going to work. That is my reality now, sheesh!

The hair on the other hand, when you get compared to rapunzel, then its not going anywhere , trust me....and the underwear - I'm too classy for that!

i would like to say britney is on the road to a great come back...

ithink it has everything to do with her father being back in her life to bad he had to take complete control of her millions before he stepped in to care at all...

if she was a broke ass do u think he would have helped her?

It could be argued that it was Britney's fame and fortune that caused her downfall in the first place. We can't look back and we don't know what's to come so all we can do is deal with what IS.

Ummmmm, I'm going to go with "severe bipolar disorder", vs. fame and fortune.

So, you're going for inherent craziness that would have manifested regardless of fame and fortune? I hate to admit I might be wrong so I'll compromise and say OK, severe bipolar disorder that was TRIGGERED by living in a fishbowl of fame and fortune.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
