mousecrazy 2 Posted July 18, 2005 I was just wondering, do they weigh you right before surgery? I've been on this pre-op diet, and want an "official" surgery weight. I guess it's a trivial question, but I figure someone here knows the drill. I think I have a few other questions, too, but I'll get to those later! Thanks in advance, Cindy
Bobalooey 0 Posted July 18, 2005 You better believe they'll weigh you before surgery. They'll need to know to make sure anesthesia amounts are correct. I lost 1.5 pounds just being on the liquids-only diet for 24 hours pre-surgery.
Rae 2 Posted July 18, 2005 yes I was weighed the morning of surgery.
daisydoodle 0 Posted July 18, 2005 The weighed me after they got me in my gown that morning... Oh, and don't be disappointed if you weigh when you get home. I gained 6lbs in two days at the hospital from all the Fluid they pumped in me....It came off in the first week easily. Good luck!
giveyouthemoon 4 Posted July 19, 2005 Me too....got weighed while in my faboo fashionable gown and socks just a mere moments before surgery. And like daisydoodle said...I gained five pounds in the hosptial, they REALLY pump you full of fluids!!
mousecrazy 2 Posted July 19, 2005 Thanks, gals! I doubt I'll weight myself for about a week after surgery...4 days away now! I appreciate all the help, as always!
Chris S. - L.I. 0 Posted July 19, 2005 I suggest getting a good scale and weighing yourself the day you go for surgery. From what I see, different scales can have different numbers. I like to keep my own record by weighing myself everyday at the same time. You can't weigh yourself one day in the morning and then another day at night. I weight myself every morining in my jammies right after I "relieve" myself and before I have Breakfast. Chris S.
mousecrazy 2 Posted July 19, 2005 Chris S, that's what I usually do...I bought a digital scale (guess I'll sell the other on Ebay), so I'm set. sometimes weighing every day makes me crazy, but I probably won't be able to help myself! You have done great!!!!!! I was reading your stats, and you are at the goal weight I have set for myself...thanks for visiting here and posting even two years out from your surgery. You inspire me, and other, too, I'm sure! Of course, I'm kinda new, and they probably know you already...thanks! Cindy
soonergirl 0 Posted July 19, 2005 If you can stay off of the scales for the full week after surgery - you deserve an award or something I wieghed the morning of surgery at home - to have my base weight on my scales, and then they weighed me in my gown. My Dr. asked that I just please not wiegh myself 6 times a day - I only weigh once in the morning now
