Starting to feel restriction, but still hungry.

Recommended Posts

I now have 7cc in a 10cc band and feeling some restriction, things are beginning to get stuck. But even though things are getting stuck and I feel that the pouch is full after eating a bit, I'm still hungry and want to eat more, but simply can't. Does this mean I need another fill to get to that actual "full feeling?"

I don't think it sounds like you need another fill. If you are eating after you feel your pouch is full, I think this is just a part of compulsive overeating. We can still do the over eating like we did before, it will just be more uncomfortable, or it may come back up. It our job to listen to our body, and when it says full, stop. Head hunger can be hard to overcome. Good Luck

I was banded sept. 25th and I now have 6cc in a 10 cc band. I was finding I was still hungry after I ate most of the time but knew I could'nt eat another bite. I asked my doctor and she did say it would take a few months but that would go away! I'm still waiting lol, but find if I keep most of my meal protien, I do not feel as hungry. Good luck with everything!!!!

I would think that if food is getting stuck, you shouldn't get another fill just yet. I know we're all different, but it's very important for me to measure my meals out. I'm supposed to have 1/2 cup per meal, 3x day, plus a snack. Up until this last fill, I felt the need to eat almost a whole cup to get that full feeling. After the fill I had a week ago, I eat the 1/2 cup portion, and stop. After a few minutes, I realize I'm satisfied, and I'm staying that way for up to four hours. I haven't gotten stuck, and I've had bread, rice and chicken. I hope this level holds on for awhile, because I'm really dreading getting to the point that I have to eat such small little bites that it takes me forever to eat 1/2 cup of food, and I really don't want to get stuck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
