short1 2 Posted November 21, 2008 I just do not know who else to talk to. I have exhausted all of my friends and family on this topic and have now started seeing a counselor. I hate my job! the people are so mean. I do not fit into their Barbie doll cheerleader mold. That does not bother me as much as the plain rude actions and lack of respect. I work in what is supposed to be a professional setting, but it feels more like Misfit Island. It is not just the women; the men are awful as well. I will not go into all the gory details, due to no one has that much time to lose reading about these losers. It is very easy to say oh just find another job, but good paying jobs are not to be found in my area at this time. :w00t: It is so stressful both my mental and physical health are paying for it. I am on Lexapro and it helps, but no amount of drugs can make a bad situation better. I try real hard to keep a positive attitude, but by the end of the day I am beat down again. I do not know what I want from you guys except to let me vent. Oh by the way I went to the HR dept. it was the biggest mistake of my career. I am very frustrated!!! Daisalana 33 Posted November 21, 2008 How hard would it be to get a new job you'd be happy with? Vent away

*susan* 1,709 Posted November 21, 2008 I am so sorry you are having such a difficult time. I know most of us with weight issues tend to be insecure as it is, and then to have to work in that type of environment can be even more stressfull. I am surprised that your HR department was not willing to do anything to help with the situation. To me, that seems like they are setting themselves up for a possible lawsuit by failing to do what they are supposed to do. I would keep all my options open. Get your resume out there on monsterjobs.com and careerbuilder.com. Set up an account to where it emails you daily job postings that match the requirements you set up. You never know when your next perfect job may open up. In the meantime, feel free to vent here whenever you need to. I wish we could do more to help.
Willowglen 5 Posted November 21, 2008 Look at it this way; if you lose some weight you can be thin. But they cant do anything to change from being assholes!
