Warm Drink Ideas?

Recommended Posts

I like hot chocolate as well and you can get the sugar free with marshmellows too if you look. Also, Starbucks has fat free and sugar free vanilla Frappuccinos and Lattes that are delicious! There are always alternatives with less calories. Don't feel like you have to give up the things you love!

Well, like many others, I love my herb mint tea too. But there are also the latte and vienna cafe mixes that are sugar free, some are caffeine free too, but I still need one caffeine drink occasionally. They are good and not to high in calorie and carbs if you aren't scarfing them all day long. Tasty, the vienna has a nice cinnamon coffee flavoring. Found next to the teas and coffees, mix with Water.< /p>

Who wants an ice cold soda in the dead of winter? Wouldn't you rather have a nice warm tea? I saw in Japan vending machines which sold cold drinks as well as warm drinks. Great in the winter time!

I know we are talking about warm drinks but I do have to say since someone mentioned not being able to have sodas anymore...I used to be a total Diet Coke addict. Since the band I have become addicted to Crystal Light's Peach Tea. I make one to two pitchers a day for my family and everyones loves it! Very flavorful and almost no calories...can't beat it!

I couldn't start the day without my cup of Decaf. It loosens up the band, and makes it possible for me to get through the day's eating. I do sometimes have another hot decaf during the day. I make my own latte by heating up skim milk in the microwave along with a squirt of sugar free white chocolate Syrup that is made for coffee (Torani brand, I buy it at World Market.) Then I do 1/2 milk mixture and 1/2 coffee. It makes the coffee higher in Protein.

Also, Starbucks has sugar free syrups, and you can get a latte with a scoop of Protein. My nutritionist looked it up, and there is about 18g of protein in a sugar free vanilla latte with protein from there.

I used to drink 8 or more diet cokes a day. First thing I used to put to my lips in the AM when waking up. I was never much of a coffee drinker.

I now drink 2 Water bottles (32 oz rubbermaids) full of crystal light live active a day. The crystal light with the Fiber. And now I also do 2 green teas or more a day for the antioxidant benefits. I've started this soon as the fall came (the green tea) and I have yet to have a cold and I work in a busy hospital. So it must be helping in some way. I use 2 splendas (the kind with the 1 gram of Fiber per packet) in my tea. I sneak some benifiber in my bfs hot chocolate. All is well in our house.

I recently read that hot chocolate has great antioxidant benefits and I'm making a cup a day for my bf and he has yet to have a cold. And thats amazing for a guy who's wheelchair bound! I just start the tea kettle and we are both sipping away after that.

Now my friend bought a tea kettle and some hot chocolate and some green tea and her and her husband have gotten into the habit. Can't hurt!

I do an easy chai tea that doesn't make me miss the expensive chai tea lattes! I just use a chai tea bag (with or without caffeine depending on the time of day), brew it, and add a small amount of SF vanilla Creamer and enjoy!

Hope this helps!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
