green 6 Posted November 21, 2008 One of the tragedies of living up here in Canada is that we don't get to enjoy the Black Friday shopping experience. And our Thanksgiving is on a Monday, so we are expected to work the rest of the week. And we Gave our Thanks the first Monday in October; it's always a long wait to the next big party, eh. We enjoy our Thankgiving celebrations but you folk south of the border do a much better job of this celebration. And there is BF shopping.......!
Sunwyse 1 Posted November 24, 2008 Black Friday in Australia has a different meaning. It refers to really bad bush fires in Victoria 13 January 1939. Almost 2 million hectares were burnt, with 71 people losing their lives. Whole townships were demolished in seconds, saw mills burnt to the ground and thousands of sheep, cattle and horses were devoured by the intense flames. tapshoes 2 Posted November 28, 2008 The worth of a human life....less than a few bucks in savings to purchase things; things that are wanted but probably not needed. It truly is 'black friday'.

Boo Boo Kitty 3 Posted November 28, 2008 I completely agree. People get crazy, this lady this morning stole a DS out of my hands. A grown up. It was stupid. There were people throwing punches. NUTS!
allielee 263 Posted December 1, 2008 One of my first black friday experiences was the year of the furby and I was first in line at Walmart since all my daughter wanted that year was a furby and I couldn't find one anywhere! I got my hands on one and was so excited when out of the blue this woman knocked me over and stole my furby. I figured she must have needed much more than my daughter. I sent out an email to all my friends asking for help. My daughter got 7 furby's from my friends that year. It is sad that people are so desperate now that they are willing to keep shopping as a man lay dying. I just can't even imagine the crazy mob scene that had to have been. I didn't see as many shoppers out this year. May God bless that man and his family and the others that were hurt. I pray that the offenders realize what they have done and come forward. green 6 Posted December 3, 2008 I remember when Furbys first came out. The adverts said that you could teach them English. I wanted one in order that I could teach it how to say rude things. Then my plan was to release it back into the wilds of ToyzRus or whatever in order that it might shock and amaze some other family. Well, it turns out that you can only teach it what it is already programmed to learn. What a disappointment! I gave mine away to my French nieces. At least it spoke English. green 6 Posted December 4, 2008 Yah, I was trying to teach it to say: "Let me love you long time. Only 5 dollars." I used to sit there at the dining room table after diner screeching at it until I learned the ugly truth, that it would never grow up to be a true green-grrl Furby. (This was when I was following the Cartman philosophy of life, eh.)
BJean 16 Posted December 6, 2008 The Cartman philosophy of life. I think I must have invented it. And yeah I want my cheesy poofs. How's green feelin? And don't say with her hands.

Green is waiting for her mate to come home with Chinese food. She sent him out hours ago. She figures that he must be watching TV and drinking beer at the restaurant while she is home alone and starving. It is cold outside. Brrr........
BJean 16 Posted December 9, 2008 For some reason I just got green's message. I hope you aren't still waiting!
